Good stuff, it's very charming. I love the modified Cave BG and how you added the element of water. Are those reflections on the walls? Looks real good.

Custom Stuff is not a series, I just didnt make a Sinister Series fake so i didnt want to call it that. If you see custom stuff then it means its non-sinister series,

The bar underneath.... i knew alot of people wouldnt like it, but Ive never done life bars before so i wanted too do something a bit different. You win some you lose some.

wtf... a 1/5 with no explenation... just plain WTF and everyone else is high scoring it... dude explain yourself.

I don't have to explain shit. Plain and simple. BUT, since ur the fake maker I will. The background is some basic Photoshop stuff, its not that great of a background. The Noob Sprite is just a freaking shadow with a face and blue eyes, anybody can do that in a second. The best part of your fake is the cut and some of the blood. The ripped part of the costume on sub doesn't even look like a rip but more of a design of the costume (its too smooth). Its not great. I'm not like the rest of these people who will give a 5/5 or 4/5 just because it looks good. I'm looking at it in a different perspective. I could make that fake in less than an hour (but I won't, I retired from making fakes). Its nothing new, nothing fantastic about this fake. Basic. Plain and simple. Happy now? Don't expect me to type this long for your next one. I will continue to just give scores just as a person who says 5/5 can get away with it, I can and WILL as well. Just to let you know, alot of these people who are giving high scores aren't good at fakes. I'm not the one in the wrong, they are because they are making you think you are doing a great job when in reality, you are not. If you tried to pull this fake out say around 2002 or 2001, you would get 0/5s and 1/5s. These people nowadays don't know what is good and what isn't.

\Well that is a good point. I have been here a long time also. Slowly becoming a vetern to this site. However, it is nice to explain why your score is so far off from all the other ones, and thank you for doing so. You dnt have to be so anal about it.

I have to be anal about it because I've been saying this thing for the past 2 years basically. I'm tired of it. If you get offended by the way I speak, that's on you. Its just the damn internet, I'm not gonna come and kill you. This is the way I am. I am a nice person if you really get to know me (go to the MKChatroom I'm there all the time). Its just that I don't understand why fakes have downgraded as soon as a number of people who have been here a while (I'm not saying veterans, I can care less about that "title") left for a moment, the shit started all over. Its just frustration on my part.


There are some people here that are decent and some people who use textures from the actual game to get that look (basically, a MaxDam type of fake) but really isn't their work. Then there are the newcomers to the scene who are just left in the dark. Then there are the graders, the horrible graders that give anything a 5/5 or 4/5. These people lead the newcomers to believe that what they are doing is the right way and looks good when in reality it isn't. Then there are people like me who sees this and will give you the score you deserve. You get confused because its not what eveyrone else is saying and you don't know why because what you were led to believe that it looks good. I don't blame you, I blame the graders because they are not giving you the right deal. I'm bored right now that's why I have the time to type this. I hope I don't have to type it again but I know I will have to

first off dont talk to me like im a 1st grader, all I ever asked for was an explenation of why you gave the score. I dont mind it all. I will only get better from criticism, not false scores. I just like a little feedback when I get a score thats all. And if you are that damn good, and that much of a damn vetern that6 you "retired"... then you will know it is nice to get an explenation from scorers, especially ones with seemingly radicle scores. Now, lets throw away that peice of whatever you wrote right up there ^ and pretend we are now on the same page, I will take what you said into consideration, as much as any of the other "graders" posted, no more no less. I will continue to post my fakes, and I will expect you to grade as you see fit... just with a short explenation if you wouldnt mind, I would like to get better.

You should try to get others to do better, not just talk down on what they do.

i agree with everythinhg sub-zedox said about the fake, its pretty basic fake, and the shadows dont even work, there comming from two differnt directions and they just out of place aswell. the best thing about this is the cut.

I still dont understand why people judge art on how it was made, it makes no sense. If someone can throw something together in an hour that looks better than something that someone's been working on for 6 months, I dont see anything wrong with that. Biasy is where it all goes wrong

UltimateRyu, the point you seem to be missing with this fake is the fact that it was not only badly edited through overused techniques, and the effects are mostly PS filters..(which you consider to be bias)..

Yes, I could make this in 5 minutes. Big deal. Certain fake-makers need to pull their heads out and stop being so damn OTT about their ability.

As for this fake, there's quite a bit I can say to help. For a start, the background is downright ugly. When you make a 'custom fake', it means that basically EVERYTHING is edited, sprites, background..all totally original ideas. You've used an already made background, and added some inappropriate PS effects over the top, which just makes it look over-contrasty and the colours too distracting. Next time, try and start with a Clouds base, add some props, and go from there.

Next off, the composition of the entire top half of the fake is all over the place. Granted, the timer looks pretty nice, but that's about it. And I don't think the 'Round 3' text is needed. It looks cramped, almost unreadable. Would have been nice to see some custom lifebars/win marks, but at least you kept the consistency of the DA theme, despite it being a mostly UMK3 fake. The massive line under the names isn't needed, and the names themselves look pretty ugly.

The blood effect is...awful, to be honest. You would have been better off using some of the pre-made blood from MKW, and then maybe smudging around a bit, as opposed to basically painting blood onto the ground. It's just not very aesthetically pleasing, as far as fakes go. Kudos on the cut/dripping blood on the back though, that's good work.

Finally, the sprites themselves don't really show any editing whatsoever. The Sub-Zero is just a very intense Scorpion color change, it's almost purple to me (lol, colorblindness). And the Noob is yet another badly executed colour swap. Would have been nice to see some new ideas for these characters, eh?

All in all, a fairly sloppy fake. With a lot more time and effort, this fake could be really nice. Points to consider:

- Better blood.
- More action.
- A better organised set of lifebars/names.
- A little more editing.
- Less cheap PS background effects.
