After a short while Cyrax came upon four people; One was Taven, the man Cyrax met earlier, the other three Cyrax did not know. Cyrax's CPU was inactive so orders and information were scarse.
It looked like there could be a pontential stand-off. Cyrax decided to lay low and see what could happen...

He turned towards the other warrior, "Whats your name, kid?"
"Taven, and I am no child." he answered.
"Take it easy hot shot, now if you two will excuse me for a moment." Kabal unfastened the respiration system from his back and knelt down to weld the hair-line crack in one of the canisters with his plasma emitter.
Just as he was sealing up the last bit, Kabal noticed something coming towards them out of the corner of his visual system.... and it was coming fast

Perhaps he could help for once. Or he could watch.
Kabal was reluctant to accept Kano's proposal, but they all seemed to be in a tight spot together. He had to put his vengeance aside for his own survival. He held his hand out to Kano, "Just like old times" and they shook.

Kano looked up and saw one of Shang Tsung's bodyguards, a Tai-Gore, heading straight for them.
"Repair your systems later!!" Screamed Kano
"hope your ready!!" Kano grabbed Kabal and threw him at the Tai-Gore
Kano used his damaged eye laser on the creature, and burned a line all the way doen his stomach
"Slice 'em in the weak spot!!" Screamed Kano as Kabal was still flying towards the Tai-Gore

Yaray stood quiet, one of his ears to the crack of the blocked off cave. He might not be able to disrupt anything yet, but at least he could pick up some information.
The cave was exceptionally good at producing echoes to Yaray's shagrin. It was difficult to make out anything that was being said but he caught the name 'Taven' and heard three succinct voices; a gruff one with a strange accent, one who seemed to have troubles breathing and had an apparatus because of this, and a wide-eyed sounding one who seemed to be this 'Taven'.
Yaray also heard metallic footsteps further away. He was unsure if the trio of warriors could hear these footfalls because they seemed to travel to the top of the cave. However, he was sure that there was at least a fourth person in there and that they were not quite human.
There was more muttering and quibbling before a massive roar filled the cave. Sounds of dashing and trampling filled the tiny hole by Yaray's ear. There was a flash of red light (a regular occurence now that Yaray wanted to get to the bottom of) and some inhuman howling.
The warrior recognized that sound from his days hunting with the primals in the Chaosrealm; there were multiple Tai-Gores in this cave.
Yaray knew that they were easy to take out in a large pack, but individually they posed a great threat.
He took the sharpened, metal shaft of his flag from out of his belt and began chipping away at the debris closing the cave in. He didn't want to let another opportunity slip him by.
Cyrax saw a shadow of someone holding what looked like a flag, but he decided to ignore it.
Cyrax saw Taven watch the other two fight the Tai-gore, but one was creeping up behind Taven. Cyrax fired a net at the Tai-gore trapping it. Cyrax then walked out from where he was hiding....

"I'll help" he reasoned when they needed it.

Kabal climbed off the floor and brushed away the intestinal matter from his knuckles. "Damn, Kano" he said, "...not bad".
Then he noticed the fourth warrior coming out from the shadows. He drew his blades and assumed strike formation. However this one didn't look like one of Shang-Tsung's minions.
"Identify yourself, stranger" he shouted and the warrior, "you here to help, or hurt?"
One such warrior had tried speaking the with Commander, but her wrote them off. 'Sorry, I have a mission to complete.Order to uphold. There is no time for me to conversate.'
Hotaru, looks at the waters, as he awaits the island.

"No time to draw the swords" Kabal thought, he balled his fists and stuck them out over his head like superman. He smashed his way through the Tai-Gore before the poor sap even knew what hit him. Blood and Viscera spayed all over a fourth warrior who was hiding in the shadows.

His response was yelling "Get over here!!" when a taigore rose out of the shadows to attack Kabal.
Quickly slicing the taigore as it came hurtling at him.
"What do you think?" He asked

Black stole my avatar.
"I have no clue who any of you are, and I really don't care. I came here to study the Shokan, and I am not leaving until I have gathered SOME information."
Taven is stunned by all that has just happened.
"I have no clue who any of you are, and I really don't care. I came here to study the Shokan, and I am not leaving until I have gathered SOME information."
Kano turned around, smiling.
"I know a four armed girl you might get along with."

"What is your name?" Kabal asked the ninja.
The ninja replied that his name meant nothing now, and to just call him 'Scorpion'.
Kabal had heard mention of a powerful warrior sent by the elder gods who went by that name. Perhaps he could be turned to the ways of chaos.
"Well Scorpion, I am Kabal of The Black Dragon. It is a pleasure to meet a warrior of your superior might and skill."
Behind him he could hear Kano and the younger kombatant having an exchange. He would have to wait and see if the young warrior was worthy before he approached him to join the Black Dragon. Scorpion, he was more sure about...

Kabal examined the yellow ninja. He recognized the warrior's great skill, and thought he would make a fine addition to the reformed Black Dragon clan. He could see the warriors eyes burning with hatred and a lust for vengeance. "So much potential" Kabal thought, "So much potential for chaos."

Black Dragon. Scorpion had heard of them before.
They were many of them and they had resources. Resources he could use.
They could also hold off any guards Onaga were to have while scorpion was fighting him.
Kabal shall be of great use.
".. Has left, Taveian or Tovun, won't stop complaining, and you, of course, are talking to champions of gods" Kano said to Kabal.
I'll be leaving, even if I do have to find a way out of this hell hole myself.
Kano began to walk off again while the rest continued to talk.

"Wait!" shouted Kabal. "We should all stick together until we get out of here, remember. Wasn't that the plan?"
He had everyone's attention.
"Kano is right, we need to put our own personal interests aside for right now and work together to find a way out of there."
He turned to Taven, "You're damn sure not going to get to study those Shokan if you die down here."
Now back to Scorpion, "And you, Scorpion, no Warrior of the Elder Gods should perish in this hole."
Kabal addressed the cyborg, "I don't know you, but it's damp down here, stay too long and your circuits might start going hay-wire."
Kabal then turned to Kano, "Kano, I know you're too prideful to admit it, but you wouldn't last a day down here in the dark by yourself."
He shouted to the group as a whole again. "Now lets get the hell out of here before we all get pounced on by some Oni, who's with me?"
Kabal felt like a high school football coach in one of those dumb movies.

He thought he probably wouldn't perish down here but he might as well help them. He is the champion of the Elder Gods.
"I'll go with you....just no more prep talks." Scorpion said in his raspy voice.

The place they found themselves in was a blank white canvas. Kabal and the others staggered to their feet, before each one was a representation of their very worst fear.
Scorpion stood before the older Sub-Zero, a powerful warrior that Kabal had only read about.
Taven was faced with his brother.
Kano stood before a female special forces agent.
The robot found himself before the Lin Kuei grand master.
And in front of Kabal stood an image of himself, before he was scarred and deformed.
Scorpion shouted and thrust his spear out at the blue-clad ninja. As soon as the tip touched Sub-zero, both warriors shifted into another plane.
Taven flip kicked at his brother and both were gone.
Kano pulled out his knife and stabbed at the woman, both instantly vaporized into another world.
The cyborg launched himself at the grand master and they both disappeared.
Kabal stared at the younger version of himself. The images of the warriors worst fears never seemed to move. After seeing all the other warriors vanish as soon as they struck their opponents, Kabal fought inside himself not to lash out.
The image faded away and a booming disembodied voice spoke out to Kabal. "Congratulations"
Kabal shook off and composed himself, "What folly is this?", he asked staring up into the white abyss.
"I plucked you and your friends up from the dungeon in order to test which of you had the greatest self-disciplined."
"Why? Where did you send the others?"
"Oh don't worry about them, they are no longer in that dirty hole." The voice boomed, "I sent each of them out to continue their own destinies..." Kabal reflected, the others were probably scattered along the island.
The voice continued, "You, however, have a different path to walk..."
