Oh for gods sake, someone close this thread already.

Reactionary posts to well measured criticism is no more art than the old gag rehashed with mediocre quality. That's an awful consolation attempt at an argument with no grounding at all. Artistic reaction is more about intention than inadvertent disappointment. This latest version of the 'pissality' makes no attempt at any kind of commentary, and cannot take credit for anything resulting.
Closer attention to the context of (less deranged) critiques also clearly lays out issues of disappointment on the terms established by the piece. Puerile humor is rarely admirable, but as something that's been done repeatedly over the past ten years, and maintained in the domain by sites like The Kombat Pavilion, it falls more than short.
The popular trend of responsive and unmotivated positivity on internet forums is as much a problem as unfounded criticism. Negative response, particularly with good grounding, should not come as a shock, nor should it be offensive.

"Well measured" criticism is totally subjective. Just as it is with all art. As an example, I'm NOT saying, but COULD say that I like this piece more than yours, simply by the reaction it's garnered. Or that I like it because it took a simple look at a simple subject matter, whereas you took a lot of time in making something too complex out of other people's work. Or I could say that this piece was an ironic jab at the shabby craftsmanship of Midway, or a brilliant metaphor for the juvenility of the franchise as a whole.
I could say a million different, subjective things, and they would neither be right nor wrong. Arguing is doing neither the "high-school band-leader", nor the "internet-tough-guy" any good. And is only making something serious out of something silly. But hey. Fight all you want. It's your right. Just as it's mine to think people should lighten up.
Deal with it ... or don't. Whatever.
And for me to credit the author with it's reaction is logical to me. Without his art, would you have written your well-spoken opinion? Would I have ever seen your sprite work? You can credit Zeus for all I care. I'm crediting MK-4-Life and his silly picture. My right. I don't NEED to justify it. I choose to. And I do that, only because you put thought into your argument. Not just a typical ad hominem BS that's going WAY off the tracks of reason here.
If someone has some feedback for this other than "it's been done" or "it's childish" (which are obviously demeaning, not constructive), then, fine. Visually this collage does nothing for me either. But if I was instantly made bitter by it, I should think to look at my bitterness, not some amateur artwork as the source of the "problem".
Does a child's finger-painting also drive these people to flame wars? How about the pronunciation of the word milk? ... Bagels?
Whatever. It's just good practice to calm down about things out of your control. Because usually people just react instead of actually making things better.
Call it pacifist, or unmotivated if you want. But the opposite is doing nothing for the flamers on this thread. And I sit here not angry, not even appreciating art. Just here typing a response to a response to a response to a response to a silly little sprite composite.
Heaven forbid there be a trend of positivity on the internet.
"Worst ... sprite-collage ... ever."
Now on to those sprite collages of yours. They seemed entertaining from what little I saw.

Wow, I'm surprised that so much hostility and anger popped up in this thread over Kahn peeing on Kang and against Subfrost. Everyone really needs to cool down about all of this, I mean, come on. It's a bad picture, and not the least bit funny, but no need for everyone to get so worked up on it, for both sides of the argument.
As for everyone bashing Subfrost, let it go already. Seriously, I don't know how most of this stuff originally started between you guys (or f it all just began in this thread), but I do not want to see these arguments on the forums. The discussion about the picture ended on page 1, and the entire thread is 3 pages long. Nobody should be degrading anybody when it comes to discussions, and nobody should be getting so uptight about what happens on an internet forum.
Anyway, I'm going to close this thread before this escalates, and per the author's request.
