I really like this this design. The only thing don't like is the color and the length of the gloves. Overall this is a really great design.

To address the above: I desaturated the color heavily to go with the overcast, foggy environment. Had she stayed as bright and rich, she would have clashed heavily with the background. In the end, she came out more of a light olive color with mocha skin as opposed to the vibrant yellow and deep tan. I prefer it the way it is though, so... *shrugs* ... Unless you were speaking specifically about the color of the gloves, not the whole thing, in which case, I understand why completely. When I made them white I immediately thought "Someone isn't going to like these..."... But I quite like the white gloves... The addition of third color, particularly white, gave her a certain vibe that I can't really explain... Eh.

And yeah... Her legs piss me off. I was concerned that they were too short, especially in the bottom, before I colored it, but I asked some friends and they reassured me she looked proportional. After coloring, I realized the 'camera bulge' only worsened the problem, but I'd already worked at it for hours and wasn't about to go back that far.

Sweet design!! Very Sweet design actually, and great drawing. The hair looks stylish and the costume is sick, legs look ok to me. Setting is beautifully dark, and the pose is quite cool.

The face though is bad, it looks like one of the Navi from James Cameron's Avatar.

If you could sort out the face, this would be an MK art museum worthy pic :)

Thanks for the compliment sandwich approach, hehe, and I disagree. Looking like something else doesn't make it bad, so I see nothing to fix.

Gorgeous! :)

I'm a little bit in love with your artwork!
The background is beautiful in itself, but Tanya is fantastic. At first I wasnt sure about the white gloves, but on second veiwing I can totally appreciate what you did with them. I actually think this is the best of all your costume designs, I just love it!

I also have a slight issue with the face. I don't think she looks like a blue alien, but something is slightly off.
I think it may be to do with the hairstyle, but I dont think her eyes look like they are at the middle point of her head, which in turn makes her forhead and hairline area look alot smaller than it should. But that is a minor issue.

Points for the Adele reference too :)
Your made my favourite character look soo badass!

^^

Thanks! And I was waiting for someone to catch the Adele love, heh.

As for the face, her eyes are slightly above center and her hair falls very flat to her head (which makes it look more extreme), but the middle of the head rule isn't one I particularly like to follow. On my own head my eyes are slightly above because I have a very pronounced chin, and the same goes for my Tanya, who I wanted to be black. Many black people have smaller foreheads with larger cheeks/lips and a jutting jaw. That doesn't apply to everyone, but it's what I wanted with Tanya.

I like this quite a lot. Like how it's desaturated. Like the costume and to be honest, the pose seems quite alright. The only one gripe i have is the line art. It seems like you're sitting on the fence a bit with that. It's not obvious there's lineart but you can just make it out. I'd say, with the style you're going for here you probably don't need any at all.

Good job.

I would say I'm going for more of a mixture of line-art and no line-art. The lines you see are the original pencil outline I did before I colored it on the computer. I kept it because it made the image look less polished, which I prefer. It's sort of rough around the edges, the lines kind of fade in and out and look a little sloppy, which while some may find it less visually appealing, I've always been that sloppy, rough around the edges artist. Art teachers hated me because I refused to use the standard techniques that they taught and instead went solely with what I wanted to see, and in this case, I wanted to see the pencil lines.

Of course, with this piece specifically, the lines are a bit more covered up than I've done in the past(my 'Outworld Rose' comes to mind) so they may look more like thin digital lines and have lost their organic feel... But, you know, oh well, hehe. Thanks for the feedback grin
