1. Is Netherrelm out of ideas

2. It's a way for Netherrelm to see what fans want for DLC

If that's how they want to play it then that's cool with me. Maybe they can get ideas for the style of costume people want for certain characters if they're yet to be finished design wise or for dlc, that's not a bad idea. There's not much up yet but some of it is incredible.

If this is true then they wont be paying attention to the actual posts so much as the amount of "likes".

Its not a bad system honestly (if its true) I have been wishing for developers to take this approach for some time now.

Seems mods don't want to have fans to put their fanart anywhere else, but in MKO fanart section.

Any exposure is good exposure as far as I'm concerned.

I already submitted some of my Ladies of MK paintings yesterday.

They probably realized, with all the fanart that Ed Boon and @NetherRealmStudios gets on twitter, and I am sure by mail too. They just thought it was time to give the fans a place to compile it all. It seems like a Fan service thing to me.

This makes a lot of sense and it's a good idea. It's a way for WB to pimp the brand independent of Boon's twitter. It's obviously a marketing thing but that's fine. It's a way to get people inspired and hyped for MKX. MK is promoting the artists, the artists promote MK. If there is an especially good piece they could share it on facebook and it will keep MK in the public consciousness between big news reveals so that hype will only build rather than build and reset.

I can't believe I forgot about all that. I don't check Boon's twitter often, but when I do, there are lots of lots of pics of fanart.

Ehh other companies have done it for their games

Its cool. Nothing really. The best fan art gets to be in the game and the artists would get a t-shirt or a soundtrack cd.

An official place to post fan art that the devs actually look at? Sounds good to me.

I think this is great thing for the fans who do fan art. It kind of gives me the motivation to finish this Sindel piece that I've had unfinished for the last forever. And maybe tone down the boobage ¬_¬

Love the pose. I prefer the hair as you originally designed it tho. The second version is way too 80s for my taste :P

This might not mean anything, but I submitted my recent MK fanart series with Jade, Kitana, Mileena, Tanya, Reiko and Rain...

... But only Mileena, Reiko and Tanya came through. The rest might come through at a later point, but it would be neat if that was a hint to the three of them being in MKX. ;P

There ARE Kitana submissions there though, so that can't be it. XD
