The reason people don't appreciate your comments is because you stress how much you hate it way too much. you make it sound as if the poor quality makes you want to kill yourself, like one of those stereotypical campy art crtitics. Instead of just saying its pure and utter shite say it looks bad and say why and how it can be improved. You'd get alot less newbies pming you then.


The fakes you've posted aren't bad. After the first 7 they get interesting. The Shinnok sprites are particularly good, the one set in the Netherealm with Noob and Scorpion is great. Others are pretty cool.

I don't think you should of posted all your stuff (I'm sure you still have some unfinished ones) just to prove to people. You could of posted like 2 or maybe 3 (I would of just done 1). I like how you show how you progressed in the fakes though. Heh.

I doesn't matter; your artwork reigns surpreme over most folks.

Random skull in Scorpion's hand in the Scorpion fatal fake, along with the random scattered weapons which seem to do little with the fatality.

Also, Why is Stryker's flesh gone from his face in your signature fake? I don't see any real point to that.

Otherwise, the rest are good. Those just didn't make sense to me.

Well, if you look closely its Nightwolf who's being burnt by Scoprion. That's why his axe is on the floor (he dropped it....). If you look even close you can see that the arm belongs to Stryker and it's holding his gun, and his nightstick and hat are on the ground too. So obviously the skull belongs to Stryker. Where did the rest of his body go? Use your imagination.... if fell off the bridge or something. I mean what are the odds a human body stays on a narrow bridge like that after having its head chopped off? But I see your point.

At first glance Shinnok looks like he'd be saying "Heil Hitler!" I just found that amusing...

Anyway, great stuff.

I like alot of your blood work and the one that stands out to me the most is the one where Noob rips Stryker and the other guy apart in a series of 3. Pretty good. I dotn mind you comments anymore, ive learned just not to take them so personly, this is a message board, some day we will all grow up and realise fighting on the internet is as pointless as being Raiden in Outworld.

Hmmm...Did you post these to be critiqued, or just to shut everyone up? I dunno, but I've got some free time so I'll just say what I think about all of them! HOORAY! (please excuse anything that is wrong or totally odd it here, I am quite tired....and slightly drunk....and on pain meds....)


The mixing of sprite styles is what gets me with this first one. Couldn't you have recolored an MKII sprite into Ermac and used another character, or an already existing sprite, instead of MKIII Sub-Zero? I mean it looks cool, as far as fatalities are concerned, but thats all its got going for it. Its simple, clean, and safe. And since when do MK guys not cast shadows? And during Fatalities the background usually turns into a darker shade of black. Slight oversights like that can kill you in the world of professional faking, not that there is one. 2/5


Okay, no sprite mixing here, good. But the fake itself is still pretty dull. Wow, Scorpion was cut in half, from behind apparently, and crawled backwards in fron of his attacker, who turned around to watch him, and promptly died. Great. But wait, whats this? The ground around the crawling/dead Scorpion is soaked with his blood, but the only blood around his dismembered legs is from the trail left by the deceased. Thats quite unlikely to have happened. Also, the blood is just a smaller blood sprite streched out under the duo. And finally, what the fuck is that digit in the timer? 2/5


Okay, some bad sprite editting and mixing here. The horrible c&p job on the stone statue and the MK2 Shang Tsung with the crappy little dots of black around his eyes. The background doesn't really fit either. Again, no dark Fatalibackground, so points off for that little mishap. And the spirits around Sub Zero, which the effect of is poorly photoshopped, look a little choppy. This is especially evident in the bottom one, who seems to have been cut off in a straight line at the very bottom, and doesn't exactly meld with the rest of the green. 2/5


The background is subpar, and there's some definite sprite mixing. Scorpion, from MK2 (with a badly made arm and axe transfer), fighting against a burnt up...wel burning Nightwolf and the remnants of an obviosly deceased Striker. This ones okay, and shows some good skill, but the axe's positioning kills it. Its bright white, which makes it stand out too much, and it seems to be in incorrect persective, unless ol' Nightwolf dropped it and it sailed forward into the foreground and was magically held up by the spike it seems to be leaning on. But thats just nitpicking. 2/5


If it wasn't for the sprite mixing of the MK2 Shang Tsung in an MK3 setting, this would have been the best one of the bunch so far. I'd also like to note that someone beating someone and losing half their health and performing a fatality (with no darkened background) in 17 Seconds, seems kinda farfetched (but possible.) 3/5


Ok, bad sprite mixing with the Shang in the seat. Plus he's an old man in an MK3 setting, which isn't that great. Okay, so with the rest of the fake, lets see....Black Saibot looks, if I'm not mistaken, like an easy, simple, MK2 ninja edit. The posing on Styker makes little since, since his legs are far away and facing the wrong direction (but one could aregue they were cut away and thrown [but with what free hand?]) and his face is missing. How did he remove his face? Please reveal this to me. And where's his hat in all of this? And that fire in the background, original or not, looks like shit. 2/5


What an awful edit of an MK2 Ninja and Kano, you are. The hair edit is shit, the body being so far away doesn't seem that possible, and finally who ever heard of winning in 2 seconds? Who? 2/5 [Damn that was short]


Saving on time here: Bad photoshop effects, poorly editted and blurry sprites and positioning, no game effects (such as life bars) to justify it as a fake, and its just plain too dark to really see anything anyway. So, 2/5 again.


Hey, some gory details! Yay! Poor ice effects, a really pointless and poorly spliced hammer/mace/whatever on Sub-Zero, and a small gray box in front of Jax's face which is annoying the fuck out of me. Oh and how come his intestines are so bloody and the ground around a dismembered part is overflowing with krovvy, but he barely has any on him or the ground around him? Seems kinda rushed. 2/5


Thats a really awkward Kai edit, and neither of them, or the wins counter fit with the edit at all. Plus the fireball thing looks tacked on and both its flaming ends are cut off before they stop at a tip. Overall, 2/5 again. (Another short one, jeez, must be runnin' out of steam or something....)


No MK effects, 0 blood on the ground, 0 blood on the killers, and one has crappily recolored MK2 ninja legs on. Also, why is Raiden's arm sticking out like that? Is the Tarkatan making him dance around like a puppet or something? Shouldn't it have fallen to its side? 2/5


Hey, this ones pretty good! No complaints other than the timer being off (2 kills in 12 seconds?) and that Baraka's really jegged looking. Sprite mixing with JC and Baraka's kinda lazy too, but 3/5 overall.


Like yourself much? The fake is decent, but the basic MK2 ninja edit is pretty sub-par and the stretch out, at an angle platforms are pretty poorly done. Liu Kang looks pretty dead n' all, but why is the blood on him bright and the blood on the scythe so dark? Laziness perhaps? 2/5.


I'm gonna skip blasting this one for the horrible edits, overall cluttered look, etc. And just write another dissapointed 2/5.





These 4 were good. No real complaints from me. 4/5 and all that.


The character edits look a little rushed, especialy in the case of the horrific one on Sindel. Theres no blood under or around Mileena, which is a major oversight, There's little blood on her legs, of whihc both are in completely odd postions (especially the one thats standing up) and, worst of all, are Jades terribly funny looking little mitten-hands. I came, I saw, I laughed my ass off. 2/5.

Also, since LK was fighting Sheeva, and removed he limbs obviously, shouldn't his sword have blood on it too? And why is LK from MK2, if Sheeva is from MK3 and Quan Chi is editted from MK3? Couldn't you have just used MK3 Liu Kang instead? And shouldn't Liu Kang have gotten a win from slicing up Sheeva? And how could he have done all that in 46 seconds? Whats the meaning of life? How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop? Will Sean Connery ever die? Who would Jesus do!? What the fuck is a samoflange!? Do all your base really belong to us!? Did OJ do it? Did MJ do it? Does any of this have to do with Roswell? Blah blah blah blah...The End...

Anyway, BS, I like your style, but some of your fakes, mostly the oldest aren't up to the standards now. This I can understand because that was a while back and the standards have been risen by various creators.

I know what you mean. I can't finish fakes anymore because I lose interrest. The last fake I made (the one with NS killing Sub and Stryker) took me more than two weeks because I just picked away at it little by little.
I've seen some of the standards these days, and I'm not liking it that much. You basically have to make your own sprites, which I don't have the time for anymore. I like making fakes so they look like a secret part of the actual MK game. Not totally edit it to the point it looks like a new game or whatever.

I agree with everything you said except the total editing part (that's my fav...lol) but time is the biggest thing I can't deal with anymore. Fakes are no longer exciting as they were before. Growing up and time don't mix well. I have enough editing I gotta do with my own flash movies. Plus, to me, mortal kombat is dead until they make a worthy game. I don't like MKDA nor MKD and MKA is just more of the same but with more people. I'll just look online to see the endings for that is all I care about. I would be making MKA sprites right now if I thought MKA was gonna be good. I remember me making the first batch of MKD sprites (which I still have), MK just doesn't do it for me anymore, no more interest. I only come here to see what others do. Give my advice who are worthy for it or just give a score if I'm lazy and they can learn on their own. Yea, I agree with you.

I totally agree. I get "writers block", and bored with projects, coupled with my computer time being cut back severely.

If you do a "scene", they complain about missing life bars, and shit. If you do a "screen shot", they complain about the lack of editing or originality. Some people are too uptight, and others praise shit. I only do this for fun. Either you like it or not. I don't care about the damn ratings. I'm thankful to those that do like my work.

Mixed sprites? WTF, ever hear of MK Trilogy? If I wanna use MKII Kang in an MK4 setting, I fucking will.

No shadows? Play MAT2. If you don't like that, then it's noon in all my fakes.

Don't like my pulseblades? Maybe I wanted a colored pole. I can't edit fucking blur/swish whatever effects in paint, and I don't want to.

I'm still learning. When I get Photoshop from my friend, then maybe I'll add shadows... maybe.
