It is such a shame that these UR fake threads end up as flame fests that get locked. However, I kinda like that, since I love to read the great disses!

But for other artists, if they post bad art the will get polite criticism. Like k1llkano will never have a thread locked, because flaws in his fakes are pointed out with politness. I guess UR can never again post bad fakes without getting people bash and flame him. Oh well.

And the fakes, are not very interesting. The effects are subpar, but you need to customize more stuff. Like bgs and sprites, plus you need fatalities that make people go"wow, that had plain blood and effects....but I feel his pain!" I just don't get the same effect by watching goro being ripped limb from limb with green stuff around him and by having blood everywhere. Not every thing needs oversaturation of PS effects and gore, UR. k1llkano has simple ideas with a minimal amount of blood that attracts the eye not only by the fatality idea, but by the beautiful blending of the bg, sprites, and custom blood. Why don't you try making some bone-breaker fakes? I always find the common neck snap or spine rip the darkest and evilest MK killer. They kinda bring you back to the ol- dark ages, don't they? 2/5 for the lot because they have too little action and way too many effects, wether it is custom or tool-made.

Next time you make a thread and try to post a fake, maybe you should try to accept the tips and criticism you're given and not try to act like we don't know what we're saying, douche. Alright man, you (satinoven) are one of the respectable few even though your critique was pretty off. Simple fakes are easily accomplished. I've just gotten accustomed to all the fluff users that can be easily brushed off

His critique was off...? What the fuck? Okay, maybe you don't understand how 'critique' works. Okay, look, a person looks at what you've made and gives their opinion on it. You, in turn, are supposed to either except the criticism and better what you've done OR pretend like the person is too far below you to even matter.

The latter choice is usually only reserved for the pompous assholes who think they are God.

Now, from what I've seen, you obviously must think you are God (or at least God of Fakes), as you cannot understand that other people have different (and usually negative) opinions of your work then you do. Maybe if your head wasn't shoved so far up your own ass, you'd realize that little fact.

I mean, look at the comments here. Nearly all of them say your work isn't very good. Have you stopped to consider that they're right? Maybe your fakes aren't as good as you think they are.

Or, then again, maybe you're the ONLY one capable of critiqing your own work correctly and, if this is the case, then you shouldn't post them in a forum where other, non-deserving people are able to see them.

Hell, whats the point of sharing your amazing work if the only one who understands how amazing it is is you.

Here's what I think of your fakes:

1st one - Simple, but effective. Though the lightning looks a bit strange, the Rain (weather, not ninja) is a nice touch. Timer numbers look off. No real need for blood in this one (it's lightning, not a weapon or something). 6/10

2nd one - Nah, too messy. The effects look too different fron the MK style. Timer numbers off again. 2/10

3rd one - Really liking the Skarlet sprite and fire effects in this one. And the timer looks right, yay! Again, simple, but effective. 8/10

I dont even know how Ryu's animations got in the Pavilion. But recently there has been some crappy stuff put in there...like that Michael Myers thing.

Ninja_Mime's first criticism was fairly basic and was done to the same 'tone' as everyone elses. Only after UR started telling people to stop 'lying' did anyone get on the offensive about telling him they were bad.



No, UR has been non-excepting. He doesn't believe anyone who gives him negative comments (calling them 'unqualified' or similar) and happily except anyone who gives him positive comments.



I'm a 'veteran' sprite editor too. Hell, really I'm the only custom spriter in this forum (that means I do my own shit) and I would EXPECT that tone of his later comments in my threads. Especially if I started being a total dick to everyone because they didn't like it.



Yes, he is within his 'rights' to act this way. He can act as pissed off as he wants. I don't think anyone cares. The problem stems from him only excepting positive criticism and 'brushing off' negative because he thinks its a lie.



Many of us expect perfection from those who think themselves perfect. UR seems to think he is this ("this is better than anything in a 50 mile radius") and therefore above negative criticism.

Oh and you are an untrained person who is exaggerating minor issues. People have said WAY worse things in this thread then Ninja_Mimes comment. ^_^

People need to learn to take criticism and people need to learn how to give a good critique too. That's it.

You gotta start editing your sprites more so they don't look like boring carbon copies with different colours. It looks monotonous when we see the same pose for a projectile move over and over again.
I whipped these up in about 10 mins, theyre not great, far from perfect, but at least they provide a little originality. They should give you a rough idea for what I'm talking about. Your Rain and Scarlet sprites are just so goddam boring.




EDIT: the blue lines are just guides for the lightning/water/watever projectile. I don't have that lightning plugin anymore, just for the record.
