The Dark Knight. We all know it. Batman The Dark Knight is going to destroy records across the line. Just because it's Ledger's last movie and because the first did so well more will come to see the next.... and Morgan Freeman!
The Dark Knight is like the most recent comic book movie, though. Spider-Man was the first to actually be considered a good movie, and to make a lot of money. Spider-Man kick-started the positive comic book movie experience.
Whenever a video game movie comes out these days, it is directed by Uwe Boll, and it sucks. It's time to get some good ones cranking. We need a Spider-Man before we can get a Dark Knight. I've never actually played a Street Fighter game, but it's good that Robin Shou is finding work, because I find him really talented. He can handle comedy, and he knows what he is doing martial arts-wise. If this movie has a dark theme, solid acting all the way through (and it appears it will), is handled with care, etc. it will be a success. Then we'll likely get Street Fighter II, and other games being turned into movies, without Uwe Boll butchering them.
Metal Gear Solid (another game I have not played), is my pick for potential "The Dark Knight" of video game movies winner.
