The Story Mode shows us what happened and how it happened. So, do you still want to see a Hollywood movie based on Mortal Kombat?

If KT makes it, then yes.

He has his own take on things in the MK universe

Yeah, well, he has a different approach. I'm talking something as close as possible to what we've seen in Story Mode.

Who's KT?

I loved the first movie. Second....not really.

I would be delighted and totally see another movie if they retconned the second movie...or even new all together maybe if they do it as well as the first.

I still have the first movie in VHS :)

Kevin Tancharoen, the guy who made the Mortal Kombat Rebirth trailer last year and is doing the Legacy webseries right now.
As for the actual story mode translated to the screen.....Original canon for me, seeing most of my favorites ass raped by Sindel once is enough for me, lol.

This way.. not so much. However if KT was doing it? Then Hell yes. I'm loving Legacy and if he was able to get a much larger budget... I bet he could make an epic MK movie.
Yeah... I like the web series but there's something about it that doesn't look right... Maybe is the budget...

YES

but NOT based on this games story, only the original timeline.

If the web series takes off, most likely there will be a movie, but based on the web series, I would think.
I would also rather have a movie based on the original timeline too.

Yup, but not if the "Legacy" dude directs (or writes).

Well it appears, taking the posts in this thread into account, that this is either going to make some people very happy...and others a bit ticked off I suppose.

Bloody Disgusting Article about MK movie

Not 100% concrete.. but looks viable.

With Ed Boon involved it shouldn't go wrong.

I just hope to bring a MK movie in some way canon to the games and to the movies. To continue from where it stops. Maybe the freedom of Shinnok from Quan Chi if I remember right from MK4 story, so to reminds us MK4, or a Deadly Alliance with Quan Chi and some other guy.....Shang Tsung (resurrected?) or Shinnok confused. But I don't want a reboot. I don't want MK 1 story again. Not now. I mean it's to early.

Oh yeah, I definitely agree. I'm on the "Happy about it" side lol. I think it'll be handled well.

I loved the first movie. (Second not so much. lol) And would love a reboot. Especially with todays CGI and what not. And if they make a sequel to a reboot let's try not to cram every MK character into it.

I'd go to see it, sure.

I highly doubt KT would be involved though since Legacy is supposed to be multiple seasons and that should keep him busy for quite a while.

They just need to get a really good writer.

Depends how many seasons they make of Legacy, for one.

IF they ever decide to make another MK movie, I really hope they'll make it R-rated. But who am I kidding. Ofcourse they're going to try to make it PG-13. I swear, if money wasn't such a big deal, we'd all be seeing movies how they're supposed to be instead of watered down versions just so the teenagers can go and watch it as well. Censorship in order to get a specific age-rating is stupid (from a non-business point of view).

As long as it's not made by the team that brought us Annihilation. If they'd make another MK movie I want it to be as good or even better than the first MK movie. A movie by KT would also be really cool of course!

If they can make it as close to canon without changing the story.

I would like to see something similar to the first movie, but better, and also something like this story mode. Except it needs to be rated R and not campy.

They also need to cast really well.
