Does anyone know where I would send three screenplays of MK movies?
I have been in college to be a screenwriter over the past 2 years. My two major assignments last year for school were. 1. Write a screenplay that continues an existing franchise movie that has to have at least one sequel (like Mortal Kombat). 2. Write a movie trilogy, based on a pre-existing literary, television, or gaming series with each screenplay being at least 90 minutes in length. Those were the semester projects, so I smacked the two together and made a continuation of the MK movie franchise. Projects like these are done specifically with franchises / continuations so the students have no chance of selling it to the studios and or copyright owners. After all if you sell a screenplay you write for school, why would you need the school?
So I have done a continuation of the Mortal Kombat series that sticks with the game story line. I have written three more movies, along with a cast of characters, dimensions of characters (as in personalities), and of course the fights to happen in the movies. I started starting (unfortunately) where the movie Mortal Kombat: Annihilation leaves off.
Movie 1: Netherealm
The whole purpose for the movie is that Shinnok wants to take over Earthrealm. This movie also leads to the whole idea that those in the Netherealm can be saved from it, like how Johnny Cage and so many others can return despite their deaths. Shang Tsung is also in demon form and returned to life by Quan Chi to set up the next movie. Cyrax is also left behind to hold open the portal on his armband for the heroes and Special Forces to jump through. Cyrax can’t go through because he is what keeps the portal open.
90 pages of screenplay 25 pages of notes
Movie 2: Deadly Alliance
With Shang Tsung back to life, he and Quan Chi form their deadly alliance; Quan Chi brings his oni through the portal. They kill Liu Kang at the beginning of the movie then take Outworld. Scorpion finds his way into this movie and plays a much bigger part against the oni and Quan Chi. There is a familiar character is the one to destroy the Deadly Alliance.
110 pages of screenplay 30 pages of notes
Movie 3: Deception
Yes indeed, follow the trials and tribulations of Shujinko as he goes on his quest to find the Kamidogu and in the movie he QUICKLY gets all six of them, and raises the Dragon King. In the past movie there was a setup for the Dragon King. A battle in the molten lava chamber used to incubate the egg of the Dragon King. Then the movie becomes the travels of Shujinko as he learns from warrior after warrior techniques he will use to defeat Onaga, the Dragon King.

Wow thanks for the info! And actually I do know that production companies or studios go out and specificly hire writers to write movies instead of you write a movie and then send it in. Plus I'd fear some of the people sending in screenplays. I've had to read screenplays in general and wow a lot of them are either horrible, or just plain brief.
However my teacher who hates fighting movies, and my editor who has never seen the MK movies or heard the MK mythology, they both felt that the trio of screenplays are extremely good, so they're encouraging me to send them in just to see what happens
Interestingly enough my editor felt that my screenplays seemed a lot like Star Wars with the diverse characters and species, Tarkatans instead of Wookies, Shokan instead of Ewoks, Shinnok and the Dragon King as Darth Maul and Lord Vader. Liu Kang as Luke Skywalker. Princess Kitana instead of Princess Laya. FIghting in Mortal Kombat instead of with light sabres
