! I got the chance to talk to, the very talented, humble, and fun, Kevin Tancharoen, Director of the upcoming Mortal Kombat Legacy Web-series. And as you expect from hadoken.net interviews, a ton of new information about the series has been revealed to us. Check out the, very informative, interview:

Freaking A!
Looks like we'll have to wait until season 2 for Liu Kang and Kung Lao.
Other than that, I'm looking forward to this!!

This guy is going the distance. I have faith Legacy will be at the very least enjoyable and entertaining, and I have no doubt it will be Mortal Kombat's finest live action outing.

I'm super-pumped for the first episode after that confirmation! I wonder if characters will show up in each others' episodes, or if episodes are going to all be restricted to a certain tight group (Sonya-Jax-Kano, Kitana-Mileena, Sektor-Cyrax, etc.) I hope this first episode isn't the last we see of Sonya.

I don't know what exactly he means with "saving Liu Kang and Kung Lao for Season 2"... If he plans on doing more episodes in the future and one of them be the monks, then fine, I just hope he doesn't mean a whole season of just those 2.

It could be a sign that rather than just an origin story, the second season would be something running through the first tournaments, starring those two as the protagonists.
