Since I heard about New Line Cinema not having the rights to the MK movies anymore and we havn't heard anything from Threshold lately could an unknown B Grade company pick this up?

Because I have a feeling if this movie is going to be made it might go straight to DVD.

guess it could happen..but hopefully a good company will pick the third mk film up. I never watch movies that go straight to dvd..and this would be no different.

If they can prove on trailers that MK3 will be spectacular, than release it to theatres. Hopefully it can break a box office record.

After seeing how awful MKA looked. That's a martial arts sequel that should've been released straight to video! Than maybe it wouldn't have gotten bashed as much as it did. Also b/c it flopped at the box office.

Straight to video/DVD movies can be good though... Like "Drive" with Mark Dacascos and Kadeem Hardison. But anyway, I still hope MK3 gets a theatrical release.

In a way I think Resident Evil 2 will determine if MK3 will be made theatrically; If it's a hit, the interest to bring MK3 to life will most definately increase.
