if the Black Dragon was created shortly before the original Mortal Kombat game, how is it possible to appear in Mortal Kombat Conquest? because it couldn't exist 500 years ago... but scorpion could not too, neither an ancestor of sub-zero... because the nowadays sub-zero is the 6 th one. 500 years ago the first man known as Sub Zero wasn't even born yet, is all of this a group of inexplainable tries to put in the TV series as much mk elements as possible, or is there any information that i don't know?

MK: Conquest is not canon and was created before the idea of the Red Dragon clan.

However (self promotion here I know) in my fanfiction based off of the tv series, I figured the Red Dragon killed off the Black Dragon thus taking over their turf. In modern times the Black Dragon created by Kano was just something that happened to have the same name but with Kabal being a distant relation to Jola is now able to call upon the power of the original Black Dragon (remember that medallion and that dragon power of hers she got from it with the help of Shang Tsung) thus the true Black Dragon Clan rises again.

well, i never was interested in Kano, but after a little search i found out he was the leader of the Black Dragon in the time of the first game. i always thought he was just a member of the Black Dragon, not its leader during mk1! but, in the canon storyline, is it known who created the Black Dragon? or the fact that Kano created it, is part of your fan ficition LadyRaiden? thanks

Unless I'm mistaken Kano created the canon Black Dragon Clan by breaking ties with the Red Dragon Clan and taking a bunch of followers with him (Who would want to follow that guy I have no idea). The Black Dragon was not only competition in the cut throat world of organized crime but a threat to the secrecy of the Red Dragon existence. Thus the 'war' between the dragon clans.

My MK: Conquest fanfiction is based off of the TV show with the same name. In the TV show the Black Dragon Clan had an long history of controlling all crimes in the area of Zu Zhin (sp?). Jola's grandfather died while leading the clan, burned out by the power of the Black Dragon. Jola's father (leader of the clan in the first Black Dragon episode) and brother were killed by Jola when she acquired the power of that same Black Dragon. In my Fan Fiction, an ancestor of today's Mavado awoke the power of another dragon, the Red Dragon, and killed Jola taking over her turf and thus began the Red Dragon Clan. (Don't worry in true MK tradition, Jola didn't stay dead long)

In the sequal fanfiction, MK: Echoes of the Past. It is modern times and Kano's Black Dragon Clan is the same as dead thanks to both Sonya Blade and the Red Dragon Clan. However, someone gives Kabal the old Black Dragon medallion (as seen in the MK: Conquest TV series) saying he is the heir to the TRUE Black Dragon Clan. Please be aware the fanfiction was started before the MK:A game and makes no attempt to include it in its storyline. Since the story starts off after UMK3 I make no attempt of figuring out Kano's history beyond the Black Dragon Clan and the Red Dragon Clan hunting him and any black dragons down.

hmmm the Black Dragon is a REAL criminal organization, but have nothing to do with MK clan.
we know that the Balck Dragon borned after that few members of it split from the original clan and brand a new one, called Black Dragon.
However it's never explained WHEN the Red and the Black dragon clans are born.

Lastfighter is correct about the Black Dragon and Red Dragon Split. Also there is a Black Dragon Society in Japan during the WW 2 era.
