Enlighten me please.
Conquest was the live-action series. It displayed the directors spin on what *might* have happened in the past concerning Kung Lao, Shang Tsung, and the like. I'm not sure if this was officially endorsed by Ed Boon or Midway at all, though.
Defenders of the Realm was the animated TV series. Cheesy, yes. I wish they would have put better animators and scripting to this show...because it had the potential to be awesome. I've always wanted a *good* animated MK. Someone should make an anime out of it.....a *good* anime.

Yes, Conquest as the non animated one, but I don't think you should be referring to it as cheesy. As if either the tv shows, the movies or the games weren't very cheesy aswell.

It was Sci-Fi. It goes without saying that it was cheesey. :D It takes a real line-pushing director to make a non-cheesey Sci-Fi presentation.

Well to be quite honest I think the whole franchise has gotten cheezy, but that doesn't stop me from playing, and I'll probably pay $5.50 for the 3rd movie as a means of cheap action entertainment
