Argh so excited to see Jeri :D

I always loved her in Star Trek so I'm more than happy to see her as Sonya. Yeah, she's a bit older, but I can deal with that because she's still kicking ass :)


My one complaint is that her outfits a little frumpy at what I imagine is the chronological beginning of the short (she strips down to just the button shirt and pants later which looks fine)


So excited for this though ^_^ It's a medium like this where I want to see a little experimentation with story telling

Jeri Ryan looks awesome. She's going to be great as Sonya (though I insist she would never have been my choice considering that she doesn't look young enough to really be the explosive blond of MK).

Still, she looks like a wonderful person who happens to be a big name who will play another big name. I'm happy. I can't wait to see more promotional stuff for this series (specially now that its pretty much confirmed that it follows the canon and not the lame rebirth trailer we saw).



I know. I love the kicks and the speed in her attacks is crazy! I can't wait to start breaking some necks with those beautiful power legs of hers.

PS: Yeah, I'm not worried about the lack of kicks, but, I am severely disappointed by the absence of her Bicycle Kicks. That's just plain bullshit.

Sonya looks glorious. I hope she still has those spinning kicks she did against Johnny.



1) Yeah, those kicks of hers are new and I hope they are still part of her arsenal. We didn't see them in the newest videos of her though, so, who knows. :-/

2) I agree. Jeri looks too old to play Sonya, but, she is indeed a beautiful woman and she looks like she has taken this role to the heart and quite seriously. I can't wait to see her portrayal. After this video (and her constant excitement about the project in twitter) I'm confident she will deliver a great Sonya.

3) LOL, well, Leo, Keith, and the rest of the gang have reminded you about that Kiss of Death that she was talking about. Funny she mentioned that one considering its her least popular Kiss (not a bad one, but, definitely my least favorite). Her fire kiss and her MKDA kiss are no doubt her most popular ones.



Don't worry about it. It happens to all of us.

Besides, how could you NOT get a bit confused and overwhelmed after all the Sonya goodness and love we just saw?



Same here, but, the reason I am truly excited about this show is because we pretty much got confirmation (with that Baraka picture) that this show follows the original canon world of MK.....not some lame Dr. Baraka (among other blasphemies).



What's wrong with the presenter/interviewer?

I thought she was fun and quite adorable. I really enjoyed her creation of that fighter. It was obviously supposed to sound ridiculous and over the top silly. Its cool. She was great.

As for seeing tons and tons of Sonya stuff, i say:

HELL YEAH!!! I can't wait.

Sonya is a big name in the MK world, and Jeri is a big name in the acting world. It makes sense and since I'm biased I'm happy.

But yes, I too can't wait for footage featuring the rest of the characters.

I'm liking Jeri as Sonya. Never got into watching her as Seven of Nine in Star Trek. Hope she manages to use her legs more in the fight scenes.

People just complain about the interviewers because they aren't huge Mortal Kombat geeks like us. They expect everyone that interviews someone from the MK Team, or anything related to MK, to know all about everything from the game, and love it. That's not reality, these are just people doing their jobs, so get over it. It happens every interview it seems...

It was a cool video. I am definitely interested in the web series, and hope it leads to a full motion picture released in theatres if it's good enough and catches on. The fight choreography in the Rebirth demo was awesome, as well as the theme and presentation style, so I definitely would like to see more if the quality is there.

Yes. Mortal Kombat movie, please.

The only complaint I have of the interviewer is that ridiculously annoying "HE HE HE!" she does during the first gameplay footage, while I'm trying to rewind over and over and understand WTF Sonya is doing. "HE HE HE!" X 10 in a row.

That attack or combo or whatever that was ends in the Liu-Kang-esque Flying Kick we saw her hitting Kitana with back when she was announced. Mystery solved! That move is still in for sure.

Can't believe people are complaining about the age thing.
a) Jeri Ryan is great to her fans and fun to follow on twitter.
b) she's got that badass look to her.
c) she's strong, fierce and independent.. everything sonya is
d) sonya is a lieutenant in the special forces and someone who has seen her fair share of bloodshed.. she's not going to be some mid20s actress.. seriously, in the 1st game i pictured her mid 30s.. Jeri looks mid 30s.. what's the problem
