Below is the information gathered on MK3. They're all from official sources.
*Rey-Phillip Santos said he auditioned, but didn't get the role.
*Cung Le auditioned a long while ago. Somewhere in 2002.
*Red Williams' site announced an MK-3, but the site is down.
*Williams' site reported Lambert's return.
*Linden Ashby said he read a script and showed great interest in reprising his role (Talk Soup).
*An article on Chris Casamassa said Chris was "currently filming MK-3". This article is over a year old and Chris is currently working on Sci-Fighter (2004).
* Stacey Dash said she will play 'a character named Tanya' and she'll be doing lots of fighting in an interview.
* Quan Chi will be the main villain (confirmed at mortalkombat.com)
* Frost will be in it; the MKDA team and Threshold both helped create that character.
If you have anything to add to this, you are more than welcome to.

Now that I think about it, the info's source can't be considered very trustful, but still...
This guy that used to come here to the forums also did Red Dragon Karate. In a RDK convention he talked to Chris Cassamassa and asked him about MK3. Chris said that the guy who played Smoke in MKA -Josh Tsui- was going to play Scorpion this time.
But, for all we know it could be bullshit.
...nevermind.

I want Luke Goss (Nomak from Blade 2) to play Quan Chi. I doubt that'll happen though.

Sweeeet.
omg, looks like it leading up to another cheeseball movie... i mean, come on, these quan chi pics don't look too good, and lets pray to God that they get decent costumes (like in MKA, the costumes looked like they were purchased from Spencer's!!!!).

man this movie better be worth the wait and anguish for all of us fans!! I mean the same director from the second film is comin back to direct the freakin film! In fact Paul Anderson should come back as the director. Do any of yall think that Bryan Singer from X2 can direct this upcoming 3rd installment any good?

Did you guys like those first two movies? I mean I did not hate them but... they were cheessy! Like someone else mentioned the MKA customes were crap. The plots were bad, the script was written poorly, the dialog- don't get me started. Overall, I came out of the theater, both times, happy to see MK but was disappointed somewhat. But I guess it might not have ever been able to live up to my expectations!

doubftful; mk conquest rectified ALL of mka's mistakes; threshold would have to be drunk AND high to make the mistakes of MKA again...

Yeah I mean I like the first over the second too, it was just better in most ways. The movies are just very different feeling than the game. I want more people to die and not die real dramaticly like Johnny C. I wanted huge fights like seeing baraka attack the shoalin temples... I imagain some fight with hundreds of people. Then have really good one on one fighting too. Instead of trying to fit so many stories in one movie they should have built their main characters better! Just my opinions.

It'd be nice if this "official source" was made known to the general public. Most information we've received so far has most definitely not been considered reliable.
If you can't provide a "where" or maybe a "who" for this source(s), then I don't see a reason why it should be believed over any other information that's been fake.
