Well Reiko still crazy and has got everyone straped to a table. I found it funny that Mileena has a mouth gag. Like, would that even work?

I was hoping that D'Vora was resurrected instead of regenerating from that on her own. I mean, how does she die? Most of the fatalities on her seem meaningless now.

Fujin made me laugh in this comic. He was all like, "I can totally whoop ass and move mountains and shit...but I'm not going to, here take these toys Takeda you're on your own. *Looks directly at me* what you actually thought I was going to fight? Don't you know it's my tradition to look like I'm getting ready to make it big right before I sit it out? What else did you think? Ya know at this point it's own your fault Windy. Thanks for the vote though."

Yeah it was a crazy issue. It's pretty cool we found out how Takeda got his outfit from the Shirai Ryu variation. Is it me or has the chapters been getting very short as of late?

They feel the same lenght to me. Maybe they seem shorter because it's becoming so intense and about to come to a close.

And I agree about Takeda. I always wondered where he got his weapon.

Didn't Jax say he designed Taquito's tech in one of their intros though? It seems like a huge ass pull to me to just have an ancient god whip up some 22nd century gear.

And his whole conversation with Takeda was some of the worst bullshit I've ever seen written with my own eyes. It made my head physically hurt. Here Fujin had a huge opportunity to make his presence mean something and the writers shut the door on him once again.

I don't know if I'm going to keep up with the comics anymore after this, they don't seem to be coming to a point.

I found that odd as well. I mean, wouldn't it make sense to cover the lower half of her face so the teeth couldn't just bite through? I should know by know that logic has no meaning in MK.

And the Kittleson appears to be continuing the tradition of leaving Fujin outside of a major conflict. And the reasoning behind it sucks.

I understand Fujin's logic of not wanting to abandon the Jinsei, but if Havik and Reiko succeed they'd be more than powerful enough to take the Jinsei by force. Plus they have Raiden on their side, and he pretty much solo'd everyone on the island. Using Fujin to fight fire with fire would certainly balance the odds. Instead Fujin accepts that all is lost and sends Takeda, the guy who got bodied by Shujinko, with some Jinsei enchanted weapons to save everyone.

He's almost as bad as MKX Kotal Kahn right now.

Oh Jax made his weapon? That actually makes more sense. I haven't heard all of the intros and I don't remember some of them. I'm going with Fujin giving him his weapon though. Lol

I would keep reading. The comic is almost over and we might see him again. Even if we don't we still got some good stuff going on.

Last pic before Fujin's entrance... Mileena, Kotal, Sonya, 'Cage' and 'Ermac' -> lol @ Cage and Ermac, I stared like 10mins at them scratching my head...

Yeah, I was hoping Fujin would join the action, but still, I'm happy he's all shiny and new again and that he helped Takeda.

D'Vorah resurrecting on her own was a little unexpected to me, but the 'this one', 'this one', 'this one' thing was cool lol.

Where's Skarlet though? :-/

I didn't mind Fujin staying back. It at least explains what he was up to during MK9. If he was to leave the Jinsei someone like Quan Chi could just roll around and destroy earthrealm instantly.

So Takeda's gear was a gift from Fujin? That's crazy. He's basically wielding god weapons at this point.

Aaaah Fujin.... will you even fight someone in this timeline?

There's nothing saying he still didn't. The gear was probably already in the temple, it didn't say Fujin literally conjured it up.

Wow Havik is a Mortal Kombat Champion-obsessed fanboy stalker that he actually straps them to tables and extracts their blood...Elder God dammit Kittelsen XD Havik is a Cleric of Chaos, not an organized serial killer!

Seriously I would have been fine with Reiko and Skarlet being the main antagonists in this series, but this "generic villain" stuff is unoriginal of Havik since he was more of an interesting and neutral character in Deception (Chaos isn't evil guys!). Ugh I just hope Takeda gets his revenge on that annoying skull troll or better yet have Hotaru storm in and drag him back to Chaosrealm.

Finally, FUJIN SUPREME CHAMPION OF MK 2015...pussies out on stopping Havik and sends Takeda on his own with some shiny new gadgets to stop Reiko and Havik...KITTELSEN!

Havik reformed the Black Dragon to help him kill Onaga so he could use his heart to resuscitate Shao Kahn. Don't let the overall tongue in cheek feel of the character fool you. There wasn't anything neutral about him. Chaos might not necessarily mean bad but when it comes to Mortal Kombat creating chaos can't happen without being bad. Peace is not an option.

Haven't been keeping up with the comic in about 4 weeks but I'm glad to hear it's still mostly positive. I really need to find the time to binge-read these at some point.

Havik's plan was just to spread Chaos throughout the realms through resurrecting Shao Kahn back to Outworld's chaotic state, he had no "take over the realms and destroy the Elder Gods" repetitive motive cliché that is shown in the comics. Sure it's bad, but in Havik's mind he's just doing as Chaos dictates. It's in his NATURE to spread Chaos unlike the other villains who CHOOSE to be evil. Havik cannot help it.

You can say the same for Hotaru and the Orderrealmers trying to institute absolute order and stupid strict rules regardless of the fact that limiting people's freedoms to have a "perfect society" is bullshit and won't work in practice.

In the original timeline during Shao Kahn's invasion Fujin was still protecting what they thought was Shinnok's amulet. But in this universe Quan Chi was wearing it like jewelry in front of Raiden before Shinnok's second invasion, so I don't even know.

This chapter sucked. The same old, same old with Reiko/Havik, the writers again making Mileena and Kotal (and the others) look like complete asses, Fujin magically healed in time to appear once more (and talk out of his rear) for no reason.
Surprise, Takeda goes from klutz to The Chosen One, oh, and D'Vorah's NOT ACTUALLY DEAD!

Sigh. Just blah after three previous entertaining chapters.

Fujin`s theme should be ``Underneath the Rotting Pizza`` from FFVII.
People comment about how the song creates this intense buildup, to nothing...

Why does Future Raiden need all that glowy tech?

I caught up on about the last 5 or 6 issues today. Kinda got out of the habit of reading them once the game was released.

I've said it about 100 times in other threads about the comic, but man am I enjoying the comic book story more than the games. The nostalgia of Tsung's Island. Giving the less popular characters like Havik, Kintaro, Reiko, etc a chance to shine. Giving the mute minions like Ermac and Reptile actual dialogue. Teaming up heroes and villains old and new like Kotal, Mileena and Sonya/Cage.

THAT said...

One of my favorite parts of the last few issues was seeing Sheeva as the new Shokan queen!? (What!?) I loved it because it's the most interesting turn her character has had... probably ever, but I wish they'd explained it a little more. Hopefully explanation is still forthcoming. Like why is she queen? Was she one of Goro's wives? (As long speculated). Is she Goro's sister? Did she get elected after Gorbok's death?

I realize this was a couple issues ago for the rest of you, and these questions may have already been addressed in another thread, but boy am I curious about this development for this formerly very underdeveloped character.

Kintaro said in an earlier chapter that they were going to have a tournament to decide the new ruler of the Shokan. Sheeva won it.
