I've just had someone tell me that "most of the events in MK Legacy are confirmed canon by Ed Boon". I've never heard this before and I've been following MK since it first came out. I can't even find anything on the topic. I've always assumed Legacy wasn't liked all that much and that the liberties taken with the characters are just considered fan fic.

Can anyone confirm this?

More specifically regarding Scorpion and the Sub Zero brothers being childhood buddies and the clans having a non-agressive rivarly. This stuff just sounds ridiculously absurd to me.
