I think that there should be another MK tv show. One beyond DOTR and Conquest. My idea was to show case the entire course of MK since the beginning, following the exact story of the game. I mean we know what happens, but we didn't actually get to see Liu Kang defeat Goro, and or Shao Kahn fight anyone. I think the show should not be a cartoon or live action, but CGI (computer generated images) like the ones used in the MKD commercials. That would be killer, and to see the animation of that from MK1 to MKD would be awesome. The TV show would show how everything came about, and it could add some elements of MKSM when that comes out. A name I just thought for it could be Kronicles, or whatever. And by the time MK 2 or 3 comes around in the show the games would be at 7, etc. that way the show wouldn't have to wait for the games. Just imagine MK in CGI on TV reliving the entire series with killer fight scenes and storylines in action. What are some of your opinions on this?

This is a very good idea, but with one fatal flaw - CGI's cost lots of money!

At fight night the MK team were asked about returning to FMV endings (ala MK4) and they said that FMV's take too long and cost too much.

A long time ago, I heard on these very forums that the opening FMV for MKDA cost $500,000 alone... So imagine how much it would cost to to a 1/2hr program weekly!

If they were going to do it, I suppose they would have to do another MK: Conquest type show - with real actors (and crappy special effectsgrin)

But I think a show recapping the history of MK, showing the most important battles is a good idea. Even if it was only a few episode prelude to the next MK game (or even better, the third MK movie) it would be cool.

Too bad it's not likely sad

There should be a talk show... they'd call it the Scorpion Talk Show!!!! one whole hour of Scorpion and a celebrity guest star, and as side skits the show should turn into something more like Bozo or Krusty the clown!!!

either that or they show reruns of the Kabal show

It could work, look at Beast Wars, that show was CGI.

Yeah but in Beast Wars they were all robots, not people. It is much more difficult to animate facial expresions and other things like clothing that moves when they walk or run. Which is why only people like Pixar, Disney, and Dreamworks can afford to these things.

Why does it seem like everyone thinks that CGI makes things better? I rather have real actors or even drawn cartoons than CGI for a TV show or movie.Guess I'm just too old school. I know the CGI looks great and is wonderful in the small doses that we get in games. Think Final Fantasy Spirits Within. Despite great CGI it was basically a boring movie. I rather they use real actors than anything else and use CGI sparing for special effects. Beast Wars was one of the few case that I actually like the use of CGI and even then I think they could have done better with animation.

I agree people these days are too lazy to use anything besides CGI. Kids movies are only CGI now and Hollywood uses it because they don't want the trouble of using puppetry.

I think an animated Mortal Kombat television show would be best for capturing the feel of the game. I think it should have an anime style and it should focus on the game's storyline. I don't another corny cartoon show like Defenders Of The Realm. I would go for a more, mature and sophisticated approach towards the Mortal Kombat franchise.

I think that it could span from the first Mortal Kombat tournament all the way up to the events of Onaga's revival and the destruction of the Deadly Alliance. The main characters of the show would of course be the warriors from Earthrealm, but some episodes would focus on the enemies of Earthrealm and expand the story plot in many ways.

I agree with everyone's opinion in some degree. It's true that CGI movies and even shows cost big bucks and if you don't target just the right audience, at just the right showing time, and in between just the right shows in the tv guide lineup, then it could spell disaster for the entire show. From what I know a whole CGI season of MK could equal up to just about the budget of the next MK movie!
....But yet I am contradictory in my own opinion because besides what some people think CGI is cool to watch...how about the opening of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance? That whole sequence held my attention from beginning to end, so you can see how things can pan out with CGI, not to mention that it can offer a few more opportunities(or a few less depending on the viewer) than using real actors or cartoon drawings. I would more than likely like it to start at the end of MK:D the video game?...why? Because did you see how many cool NEW characters were included in the game?!? A screenwriter (one like myself) would die to have colorful, but deadly looking charactes with deep and changing personalities like that.
But as much as it hurts to say....there's probably a 50/50 chance of it happening....why? Because if Mortal Kombat: Devastion does bad in theatres, then why the hell risk a CGI that will cost just as much as the movie?
