Yeah I have to agree with this statement. You can't compare new figures to the ones from the 90s! Where was NECA in 1994? Here's an example. People say all Jazwares are bad. Well compared with a 90s figure, they look AMAZING!
Like this....

Jazwares needs to get better with there products. Hopefully they will. I guess the bottom line is, they're the only MK figures we got and they are still the best so far.

That's exactly the problem though, they are the only option available right now so people are willing to settle for just about anything. I'd prefer no MK figures than shitty ones. Caveman Johnny Cage was bad enough, but then they released that sad face Baraka, that fucked up Reptile, and now Jax is ruined. Combine this with QC issues, bad paint apps., sleazy business decisions, a high price point.....sorry but this is just too much for me and I'm usually one who can look past the shortcomings of figures if the source material is something I'm a fan of. The fact that nobody else can touch the property right now action figure wise thanks to them is also very infuriating.

Reptile actually looks pretty good. Look, I understand you blaming the QC guys but half the Jazwares molds have ended up looking really good. And high price point? For 6 inch figures today, I think that's pretty fair. Hasbro charges 16.99 for Marvel Legends and Mattel charges 17.99 for anything 6 inches. Not to mention, if you want to compare the 3 3/4 multi packs, most Marvel Universe figures are now up to 9 dollars, with a pack of 3 costing 19.99, and 40 for 6. Then there's the fact that you can get 4 6 inch figures for 34.99 as opposed to the 30 Mattel would charge you for 2. Jazwares has a damn fair price, and have shown to have better distribution than Hasbro or Mattel lately (go find anything recent from Marvel Legends, I dare you)

I'm only buying the best ones. Even if another company takes the license, they'll do what all the other companies did and release the same old characters. Atleast Jazwares is giving us some variety.

How do you know that? When SOTA took over the SF line they gave us never before made characters right out of the gate. A mix of obscure, female, and popular proved to be the perfect combination. Jazwares has done known of this, and the less popular characters are already looking like shit.

Also if we are going to use dates as guideline for quality then why do the MK figures they did almost 10 years ago look better than their current efforts? It's clear the company is below standards from the execs all the way down to the sculptors.

Reptile looks awful. It looks like an old ladies face with a constipated expression. I disagree on the price as well. $15-$20 for a mediocre to shitty 6" figure that has tons of QC problems is unacceptable. I won't argue that other companies don't do this, but for every shitty Jazwares figure another company will do 3 awesome figures. I can't speak about Marvel toys, I don't own or collect any. I just can't wait for this C-grade company to lose the license so a more competent and skilled one can acquire the rights.

SOTA produced the best Street Fighter Figures ever IMO. If they get the license back, maybe MK will do the same. Until then, Jazwares has still got the license, Like them or not. I disagree about the Reptile too. He looks kinda cool.
I really like the removable mask.

Any idea as to when any of these are coming out? It's been getting harder to find the newer releases in stores, and eBay has been the one lone savior tongue

In fact, I just recently bought a bulk pack on eBay that had the 4 inch Raiden, Baraka, and Reptile.

So, from everything we've been seeing lately, what else should we expect?

-6 inch Reptile
-6 inch Jax
-7 (?) inch Shao Kahn
-20th Anniversary multi-figure sets (Scorpion, Sub-Zero, anyone else?)
-6 inch Liu Kang (based on sculpt)
-Kahn's Coliseum set

Wasn't there also talk of a 6 inch Sonya?

Here's a list of what's coming out:
Deluxe figures- Shao Kahn and Goro
Each figure measure 71/2 inches

X-Ray 2 Packs- Nightwolf and Kano & Liu Kang and Baraka

Battle Damaged- Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Nightwolf, Baraka, Liu Kang, and Kano

Regular 6 inch- Liu Kang, Reptile, Kano, Nightwolf, and Jax

Regular 4 inch- Liu Kang, Jax, Kano, Nightwolf, Johnny Cage

Kahn's Coliseum Set

Everything looks to be coming out this summer. Mostly between July and August. I've also heard rumors of the 4" Kahn being an Amazon Exclusive! It's just a rumor for now though.

Are they releasing 6" MK2 versions of Rain, Ermac, and Noob to go along with the others released in the 4 pack last year?

Yeah I like em.Kahn's sculpt and paint over all looks nice.
Jax and Reptile look pretty good but I'll have give Reps a paint wash to look more dark like in the game he's just a tad to bright.

And Jax just needs more paint apps like the beard.

I definitely agree, though I probably won't repaint Reptile.
Jax and Johnny Cage just miss the mark for me, gotta pass on those. I'm really digging Kahn, Reptile, and the ninjas that I have. I wonder if we'll see some females from MK? Kahn needs some company ;)

Haha!Yeah I hope we get some female Kombatants. As for me repainting the figures,I do it a lot anyway like I was bored today and painted the Deadpool logo one a GI Joe machine gun for the MU Deadpool.I just do it to detail things and whatnot.

I'm looking forward to Quan Chi and Sonya the most and also need Kabal, Kenshi, Stryker and MK9 Smoke for my collection!

Kabal always misses out for some reason, I don't get why? he's a bad ass character that would make an epic action figure

Jazwares need to stop being sexist and release Sonya Blade!

Kabal would be a badass figure! I'd like to see him in the MK9 outfit with a removable mask. And of course, the dual blades.

Some new preorders came up today. Check 'em out.

This place has no pictures :( but there are details and release dates.glasses
I believe the small scale Shao Kahn will be sold only with the throne set, which is due in November.

Yep, they still look like shit. You should post the 6" Kano up, he looks like he belongs on a box of Just for Men hair color, plus he has a painted on shirt. Fail.

Also, 6" Nightwolf has a goofy smile and zombie colored skin.

The best MK figures are custom made ones, you cant argue that

ya the guy that makes these is awsome he has lots more too, but the thing is the official figures dont even come close to these, I these have leather and sewn clothes but just the sculpts paint and effort destroy jazawares

If jazawares put in half the effort of this guy they could make great figs

As long as people keep settling and buying their shitty figures they have zero reason to improve their standards. The fans are the biggest detriment to this line by far.

I think the new 6 inch and 4inch Nightwolf figures are pretty awesome and the Shao Kahn's arena set is a must have!

whoever made Liu Kang shouldn't have a job making figures or painting them but I never wanted another liu kang- that was just forced upon us by WB and Jazwares giving us the same old dull characters nobody asked for, but Nightwolf/Kano/Shao Kahn and the arena I am looking forward to!

these should be due out July/August hopefully, you know what though- after this they NEED to give us Sonya Blade and Quan Chi or better yet Kabal or Stryker!!!

Here's a few updates for you. The Shao Kahn 6" and the 4" Throne set should be arriving in stores in August. Here is a prototype photo with the exclusive 4" figure. The figure is exclusive to the throne set, not any it store.

Okay...it seems they';ve made some improvements to Jax, but Liu Kang has a terrible, TERRIBLE face. What the hell? I'm not touching that.

I've said it before: Jazwares cannot do faces anymore and should stop trying. This is a case where I wholeheartedly encourage them to just spam out masked ninjas, lady assassins, and cyborgs.
