just for fun .. new mk movie if you could cast it ..

if you could cast a new character list for a movie of mk w/e 1 storyline is yours I just want to see who people would look 2 for real life mk ppl...


like I think kano in the 1st game sort of looked like jason statham haha so I think he'd be perfect for that role even though the guy they used in the movie was great


kano- statham

kung lao- jackie chan he'd have humor and all..

jax- the guy on the web series who plays him already

liu kang- hopefully same guy he was great

shang tsung- same guy again he did well

sonya- really dont know since her last person... maybe reese witherspoon but she doesnt strike me as that fighting type .. jessica alba?


johnny cage- hmm I'll say brad pitt he's done fight movies has the humor and women seem to find him amazing so I figure he can pull off a good cage

the ninjas dont matter as they're constantly covered

raiden- again same guy from 1st mk if he could lol

kitana - mila kunis : ) or vanessa hudgens haha

jade- michelle rodriguez

mileena with a mask - mila could but angelina jolie?

sindel- aged natalie portman ? or kiera knightley ?

cyrax - pre robotic form ..wesley snipes

- jet li could fit in as a lot of characters as well

cant think of a big guy to play shao khan so screw it kane the wrestler or mickey rourke or even THE Rock..


Im sure there will be alot of disagreement but this is just off the top of my head ..forgot alot of characters and actors/ess's lol

So basically you want a bunch of actors who seriously do not fit the role you want them to play as nor would they even want to get the role and not care who gets to be any of the so-called "ninjas" because they're faces are covered?

It's still hard to believe that Cameron Diaz was about to be Sonya Blade in the first movie... Yeah, I'm just going to say cast actors who aren't really that famous but could actually deliver the roles perfectly. Such as Chris Hemsworth, never heard of the guy until now... Delivered a great Thor character. Not saying that I would like to see him in a MK movie, just actors who are around but aren't as famous or well-known unlike the actors you have listed. And Kane as Kahn? *Trying not to giggle*

I wouldn't cast it at all because clearly it doesn't work. Every time someone has tried to move the ridiculous story onto screen it looks campy and ridiculous. People blamed directors when in reality outside of the video game medium, the story is absurd. Even in comparison to comics the story is absurd. The best shot there was for a decent MK movie was the Rebirth idea which didn't work out the way it should because people bitched until it was reverted back to some weird pseudo-version of it self maintaining the campiness.

yeah this should def. be moved, but I'll play along.

I came up with my perfect casting list for like 3 or 4 movies awhile back, here's my list for the first movie:

Liu Kang ---- Daniel Dae Kim (guy from "Lost" and "Hawaii Five-0")
Raiden ---- Patrick Stewart
Johnny Cage ---- Ryan Reynolds
Sub-Zero ---- Christian Bale
Sonya ---- Scarlet Johansson
Jax ---- Will Smith
Kano ---- Liev Schreiber
Shang Tsung ---- ???
Shao Kahn ---- Vin Diesel
Scorpion ---- Jackie Earl Haley
Goro ---- Dewayne Johnson ("The Rock")
Reptile ---- ???
Kitana ---- Maggie Q (though idk if Kitana should really be in the first movie)

I really think Ryan Reynolds would be PERFECT for Johnny Cage (though if Linden Ashby was still young, I'd totally recast him.)

Robin Shou was amazing as Liu Kang, but he's 50 now, so time for a younger lead.

I'd also like to point out that I made this list before Reynolds and Johansson decided to get divorced....

Also, I realize this cast would NEVER happen....I'd be surprised if any of them signed on to do an MK film really...

Liu Kang, I'd have rain from ninja assassin
Kung Lao, Donnie Yen
Johnny Cage, If they weren't so old either Bruce Campbell of Kurt Russel but they are so Milo Ventimiglia (Peter Petrelli from Heroes) I dunno if he knows any martial arts but meh.
Raiden, Min-sik Choi played Dae-su Oh in Oldboy
Sonya, Kate Nauta from Transporter 2
Shang Tsung, James Hong maybe to fight id have him morph into Tony Leung Chiu Wai (broken sword in Hero)
Sub Zero Yusuke Iseya (casshern)

thats all i can bothered thinking about now.
