List characters that may not appear in an MK movie.

For future MK films, I believe these following characters will only make cameo appearances or will not be included at all. Mainly because they are not significant to the game storylines and have only appeared in 1 or 2 games.

All the playable characters from MK1 and 2 would likely play major roles in a movie. But in MK3...

Nightwolf
Stryker
Kabal
Ermac
Rain
Jade
Noob Saibot
Sheeva
and only one of the 3 cyborg ninjas would be given a major role (most likely Cyrax).

MK4...
Reiko
Tanya
Jarek
Kai

MKDA...
Li Mei
Nitara
Mavado
Hsu Hao
Bo Rai Cho
Drahmin
Blaze
Mokap

MKD...
Havik
Shujinko
Hotaru
Ashrah
Dairou
Cobra
Darrius
Kira

What does everyone else think of this? Who do you think might only have a cameo or not appear in a future MK film?

Your list consists of a LOT of characters that I would imagined be in a future movie. Ermac? Jade? Why wouldn't they be in a movie?

Not every character is significant to the storylines, the only ones are mostly the bosses, Liu Kang, and characters who has never appeared in a MK game such as the original Kung Lao. But why should characters who have only appeared in one or two games should not be included to a movie? That makes no sense whatsoever.

You can't have a MK movie without Kabal, come on, fan favorites missing in video games will be such a disappointment towards a lot of fans. I really don't like your lists that you have here.

Did you not read my post carefully? I said it's either an absence or a cameo appearance among any of them based on how iconic they are. That's the way it's gonna have to be if you don't want another disaster film like MK Annihilation. Don't you know that short film suffered from trying to cram in too many insignificant characters that weren't important to the story?

Yes, actually I did read your post carefully, twice as a matter of fact. I know that the second MK movie tried to fit so many characters into the movie,

Technically, the characters that were cramned into the second movie were either a part of Shao Kahn's assassins to help take over the world, or helped Liu Kang and his friends... even though the only two that came into the plot was Nightwolf and Jax, even though Nightwolf only made a few appearances.

Ermac and Rain were helping Kahn get rid of the characters "Styker and Kabal" who were not featured in the movie at all, and were aiding Kahn. As well as Motaro, Sheeva, Baraka and the reptilian creatures. Of course Sindel has to make an appearance becuase she was needed to help do... whatever Kahn was actually trying to do I don't remember becuase it's been a while since I've last seen the movie.

I understand that there were too many characters in that movie that didn't belong in there, but unfortunately, any movie in the future that's made about MK doesn't need to have all these characters absent from the movie. I mean, I understand what you're trying to say, and yes, a lot of characters ruins movies... at times. But all these characters play a part in the MK universe that they shouldn't be away from a scene in the movie. They don''t need to not make an appearance in a movie only becuase they were "minor characters." So what. But the point is that some of the characters you had on that list, I really don't understand why they're there. Ermac, Noob, they're major characters. Bo Rai' Cho I know is important.

So, that's what I have to say.

Well now that I believe a reboot/remake of MK should take place before the first game. I would use several different stories in one film like SIn City. If you go with that for the next MK film then perhaps minor characters such as Jade, Rain, Noob Saibot and Sheeva would likely appear.

i completely agree with you! all those charecters arent important to the mk storyline. just beat the games with all the mk 1 charecters in every game and see whos endings intertwine with them, like mk4, how scorpion and sub-zeros endings consist of the same concept.

Well i'm pretty sure Cham and Kham won't show up unless we see a camaflouged figure change colors. an interesting plot twist is that Kham brings Rep over to the good side

Kham walks over they embrace each other
Kham then tells Rep about Kahn wiping out their race
Rep swears revnge

I believe if there is a reboot of the MK movies, it should be Focused on the events BEFORE the tournament. Possibly the war between Raiden and Shinnok, or MK:Mythologies. They could do the story of the original Great Kung Lao, but it's kinda been done on the show :/
