Major problem with MKA: Shao Kahn

IMO, the biggest fault that had me mad about MKA was the huge difference in the way Shao Kahn was portrayed in MK1:The Movie and MKA.

In MK1, Shang Tsung, Goro, Rayden, Kitana, etc. portrayed Khan as this amazing, powerful, unstoppable emperor. Even the ending of MK1 made him seem really unstoppable. He wanted power.

In MKA, things really screwed up. Though MK1 ended exactly where MKA started Shao Kahn immediatly seemed diffrent than the way he was portrayed in MKA. He didn't look like the big, strong demon like in MK1, he looked WAY too human.(He shoudn't have taken the helmet off...) and he seemed to be doing everything just for his fathers(Shinnok) approval. He took too much crap from his father, and the Shao Khan from MK1 wouldn't have taken orders.

Just waned to get that off. I hope MK3 won't change too many things too drastically.

Yeah, I thought Kahn was the worst portrayed character in either movie. He is supoposed to be ruthless and unforgiving - a ruler who strikes fear into anyone who crosses his path. Not some crappy actor who looked or acted nothing like he should have, even though he was shown to be truely evil at the end of MK1. And WTF was with Shinnok being his father? AND RAIDEN'S??? What the hell, whose brilliant idea was that? There were plenty of mistakes made in the hilariously inaccurate MKA, but the way they showed Khan was the worst in my book.

Kane from WWE should be Shao Kahn if they bring him back. Kane's 7 foot tall, and 330 lbs. As long as they have a crappy actor, might as well get one that's actually scary.

i aggree, kahn in mka was just... a fat bald dude who whenever he did that camera mug smile i wanted to take a hammer and destroy my tv, ugh, he should of stayed how he was in mktm, not the ignorant look in mka.

Kahn was good in Conquest. If he had been as good in Annialation(sp), that movie might not have sucked.

I TOTALLY AGREE, Brian Thompson was the WORST thing in Mortal Kombat, i have feelings that renamr did better than him, i have said this before, WHY THE F DIDNT THEY JUST KEEP THE STUFF FROM THE 1st FILM!!!! The shao kahn in Mk1 was scary and strong and ugly, in mka he was NOT intimidating and no one was afraid of him....he shud have never have taken his helmet off and omg, why new line, WHY!!!!!!! confused

ok, im ok now, its just that i get carried away

I remeber when mkA came out, i was probably like 8 or 9 years old, through out the WHOLE movie, i thot that Kahn was the one with the mask, and the bald guy was an other fighter...i didnt know they were the same person LOL.......damn! and i was a fan that got confused...imagine the people that didnt know the story

lol...i had it like this : when i was younger i went to see MKA in cinema...i was like woooaahahhwow. now when i am 15 i looked it again and saw like omg sooo many mistakes and a horrible story

Did Brian Thompson play both Shao Kahn on MKA and Conquest?...never seen the Shao Kahn from conquest.

Yeah what was the deal with Shao Kahn taking his mask off??? Dude, Kahn doesn't take his mask off I don't know why he did that, Shao Kahn fights with his mask on.

Kahn has taken his mask off before... when he was being killed in the Mk5 intro. But one thing that confused me was Jade. She was suppose to be on the good side... and black. A good, black girl

Problems with MKA Shao Kahn? Hmmm let me think.

Kahn being unmasked was VERY WRONG!

He looked more like a babified bully without that mask.

He was way too short, when he was suppost to be VERY TALL!

Kahn (in reality) does not look human w/o the mask either. This would explain why he never took it off in the games.

And finally, his voice was too damn high!
