In an episode of 'Family Matters', Erkel was playing a fighting game closely resembling MK; The only catch was that instead of playing as liu kang, he was playing with a sprite-based version of himself... Needless to say, it was hilarious.

The Leslie Nielson movie was Spy Hard, which had a villain named General Rancor. And Bart tried stealing a videogame from a Try 'N Save, not a mall, but good job with the reference.
