I would be really grateful if someone here could solve a mystery for me that's went unsolved for years. Back in the day, I was an avid novelisation reader. When I copped on that most movie adaptation novels were based on (usually) early drafts of the script and thus provided a slightly different - or longer - story than the movie itself, I became hooked on them.
Regarding "MK", I have the "Annihilation" novelisation, the first movie novel and the one by Jeff Rovin that was a psuedo-adaptation of the first game. However, years ago I came across listings for 2 "MK" novels entitled 'Reptile's World' and 'Shango's Thunder' both by C. Dean Andersson on Amazon, but there are zero details about them. I'm beginning to wonder if they ever existed, haha! Does anyone here own them or has read them? I'm just curious to know what they were like (that is, if they were actually real hehe).
Also, another novel related question: are there 2 different versions of the "Annihilation" novelisation?
And finally, anyone know what this is (related to "MK 9"): http://www.amazon.com/Mortal-Kombat-Mr-T-Lofton/dp/1463626665/ref=sr_1_5?s=books&ie;=UTF8&qid;=1361745932&sr;=1-5&keywords;=Mortal+Kombat
Thanks in advance!

To answer your questions:
'Reptile's World' and 'Shango's Thunder' both by C. Dean Andersson
These appear to be unofficial and unauthorized books from online self-publishing companies. Fan fiction nevertheless.

Are there 2 different versions of the "Annihilation" novelisation?
Yes - one long version and one short version.
And finally, anyone know what this is (related to "MK 9"):
Yes another independently-published fan book. Very likely it's fan fiction mixed in with known bios and stories from the Internet. Browse some of the pages here --> http://www.amazon.com/Mortal-Kombat-Mr-T-Lofton/dp/1463626665/ref=sr_1_5?s=books&ie;=UTF8&qid;=1361745932&sr;=1-5&keywords;=Mortal+Kombat#reader_1463626665
I am selling some MK scripts, including the Defenders of the Realm MK Bible. Contact me about that.
For ANYTHING about movies and media, including reading copies of these books, visit my site. It's in my signature.

The two novels
They were supposed to be official junior novels if I remember correctly. I think Andersson said that they were cancelled just before publication. Here's some info from bookdepository.co.uk:
Title
Reptile's World
Authors and contributors
By (author) C.Dean Andersson
Number of pages: 10
Main description
Discouraged when he loses a battle with Reptile, Johnny Cage is transported back in time by the Thunder God Rayden to the time when Reptile's race ruled the world, and he learns an important fact about his adversary. Original.
Title
Shango's Thunder
Authors and contributors
By (author) C.Dean Andersson
Number of pages: 10
I wouldn't have thought MK was suitable for children's books, but they may have tied in with MK Defenders of the Realm.

Thanks! Glad to have that finally settled. It's been bugging me for a long time, haha. I would've never thought to guess they were unofficial projects. Also, gorostilllives, *awesome* website. I shall definitely be using it in the future.
