Mortal Kombat 3 will probably be like Terminator 3, they probably won't make another sequel for several years... Like Terminator, where the third one came out way after the first two... So... I think we still have a few years to wait.

And also, Terminator was good, Terminator 2 was great.

MK1 was pretty damned good, and MK:A was heinously and unforgiveably terrible, imho.

So they also don't match up that way.

You say T1 was good T2 was better, thus giving it a reason to make a sequel... But since MKA was worse than MK1... For all we know, there might not be another sequel... sad

That seems entirely possible to me. After how bad MKA was, I wouldn't be suprised if any other attempts were stopped somehow.

The only way we will see MK3 is on 'Gregg's Previews' on Yahoo's movie database!
Lets be honest even if it were to come out do you ever think it will satisfy the fans?.....I don't think so! Expect a b-movie type sequel just like Annihilation

nice to see a real hardcore MK fan, enthusiastic 'sp' about the MK future.

anyway, we've got a market here. Underground one. For 6 bucks, you can see Hollywood movies that just hit the screen. For $10, you can see the movies that are done, but haven't hit the cinemas yet. For $16 you can see movies, that they have only made scripts for, that aren't done yet.

Let's face it!
There is no way Lambert will appear in a MK sequel unless he's really, really, really desperate for the cash!
I loved the 1st movie but unless they get rid of the cheese-stylee ala MK2 I can't see a good future for MK movie wise!
sorry :(

yeh, odds are they do get rid of the bad stuff. But telling people to face that the movie is going to suck, is wrong. Especially, if there's no reason why it should suck.

I think they learned from their mistakes. *points to MKC* .
And concerning Christopher Lambert, what makes you think that if he isn't in the movie, it'll automatically suck? That's a rather stupid thing to say.
And right now, I think he would be desperate for a part in a movie, since he's pretty washed up.

I'm not saying it's going to suck, I'm just saying that they may not want to take another risk like that again...

I think both MK movies were excellent, fair enough some parts could of been better, but what movie couldn't be improved? Annihilation was released 6 years ago, the special effects have changed a lot since then, so undoubtably the fights scenes have the potential to be something special. Taking matrix/matrix reloaded for instance.

I remember on Fatsatan's now offline Outerworld.org, he had a list of reasons he hated MK Annihilation. Here are some exerpts.

"Brian Tompson shouldn't be Shao Kahn, he's too short."
"Couldn't they change angles, edit the film, make him stand on something, Anything to make him look taller than the other actors?"
"Rain's grand entrance, a wussy voice and a wussier death."
"Millena didn't look anything like kitana..."
"Shao Kahn earned his first star as wonderful ultraretard by killing Jonny Cage, instead of Raiden."
"SHAO KAHN AND RAIDEN AREN'T BROTHERS!"
"Apparently Brian Tompsons cheap mask fell apart at one point, because even when he wears his helmet, the mask stays off. We don't want a bald retard dressed as a depressed eighties popstar, We Want Shao Kahn Dammit!"
"F*CK YOU THRESHOLD!"
"F*CK YOU RETARDED JELLYFISH WRITERS!"
"SHINNOK IS NOT THEIR DAD!"

Also, MK fans hated it because it didn't follow the games plot, characters like the popular sub-zero and scorpion disappeared, the effects and fights were pathetic, and much more.

Hehehe okay okay, thats agreed for sure theres a few things I know I would like to see but would be a long list. It is the same with all games or cartoons or comics becoming movies, they never stick to plots and just seem to create their own.

I pray MK3 will not have that long a lag time between it and MKA. It's already been 6 freakin' years and we have no MK3. Fortunetly they're either making plans of what to do during pre-production or they are at pre-production. I hope its the latter. T1 was good,T2 was better, T3 was as good as T2, nah, just a bit better. MK was great,MKA was fairly good, and hopefully, MK3 will ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They just need to put more Scorpion and Sub-Zero time in it!

Yeah, Im pretty sure that IF they ARE making a new Mk movie, they wont mess it up. I have hopes that the movie will kick ass. With impressive special effects, and awesome hand to hand fights.
