The MK3 movie should stay true to the game genre. I would like the movie to be based on MK4. All the characters in the MK4 game should be in the movie. The story could be based upon Shinnok and Quan Chi as they plan to kill the Elder Gods and then take control of the Earth.

Sub-Zero would be one of the main characters and he would target Shinnok's amulet but is getting pursued by Scorpion who believes killed his family.

Liu Kang would also be one the main characters and in the beginning he would go to Edenia and try to save Kitana but the realm gets destroyed and Liu Kang finds himself back on Earth unable to save Kitana. Liu Kang would then bring Kai with him to seek Raiden and together they would go after Shinnok and Quan Chi.

Johnny Cage would return from the dead and he would join forces with Raiden and Fujn. Johnny Cage would travel with Liu Kang and Kai to where Quan Chi and Shinnok is and would bring some comedy in the movie but towards the end he would get serious and fight his hardest.

Sonya would capture Jarek in the beginning of the movie and the Special Forces agency would get under attack by Quan Chi. Some of Sonya's men would die and Sonya would search for Jax and they would go after Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. Jarek would often try to escape Sonya and multiple fight scenes would take place during that.

Reptile would join forces with Quan Chi and Shinnok and would wage a huge war battle scene with Edenian soldiers. Reiko would be a general also and he would lead Shinnok's soldiers into battle.

Noob Saibot would be in the movie and he would spy on Liu Kang and the others. Kai would fight Noob Saibot and kill him in battle with his sword.

Goro would be in the movie and would try to kill Johnny Cage for his defeat in Mortal Kombat. Johnny Cage would fight him but eventually they would stop fighting and make peace. Goro would then help Liu Kang in his search for Kitana.

The movie should be rated R for blood and gore and it should be long. It would be good if the movie was 2 hours and 45 minuets or 3 hours to fit all of the dialouge and battle scenes in.

3 hours long sounds OK to me.
For one, a lot of good movies are long. What if MK3 became a super-famous classic? C:
they have for sure the time to tell the full story
if it's good, you don't want it to end. It's MK, you love it, you want more! And there you go, lasts for 3 hours.

The storyline goes downhill from this point, so they should do Mortal Kombat Redux. A remake of the first one, with features such as:
- A way, way bigger budget
- Lotsa blood and fatalities
- Running time approx. two and a half hours
- Explore the back stories and motivations of Sub-Zero and Scorpion (improved costumes too)
- Fight choreography assisted by Yuen Wo-Ping (The Matrix, Crouching Tiger)
- Less of an adolescent CGI techno-fest and more of a serious, mythical martial arts epic extravanganza.

For the record, I quite enjoyed the first movie, but it could have been a whole hell of a lot better.

how can you say the story goes downhill from this point?!?! There are two movies. First ruled, second sucked (statistics back me up). And you already want to remake? We'd get nowhere that way.

also, the coreagropher from Matrix? Matrix had lots of computer-generated effects. It would require to have that kind of technology. And a technology WELL used would only add to the goodness of a movie, to depth and stuff.

improved costymes? They've done good so far. Unless you count MK:A, whevere pretty much everyone looked like shit. So that barely counts. I'm glad Kabal wasn't shown.

blood... no blood fest. Only as much or little blood as it takes to make it look real. Though, more blood would be in order.

Sub-Zero's and Scorpion's backstory? You got it.

The storyline from this point on just gets repetitive. Even more big powerful motherfuckers from other dimensions come to threaten Earth, so our best warriors have to defend the place. Getting a little old.

I'm not saying I want totally Matrix-style fights, with lots of slow-mo and revolving cameras and superhuman speed. Yuen Wo-Ping is great at creating kick-ass, skillful kung fu battles, as seen more in Crouching Tiger and some of his older Jet Li flicks. I think that style would work well with characters like Liu Kang and Kung Lao, since they practice Shaolin (or similar) martial arts.

You may have liked the ninja costumes from the film, but I didn't. I think they needed to lose the sleeves and add a little flair, as they've done to Scorpion in MK:DA with the textured sash and detailed armor plates and belt. Sub-Zero in particular just didn't look as intimidating as a supernatural assassin warrior should.

Agreed on the blood thing. Just enough to make it realistic.

I know a remake won't happen, I just think it'd be a nifty idea. I'm pretty sure the third MK film will be about as shonky as MKA, but it might surprise me.
