i've never even watched a single episode of that show but i've heard good things about it. all i do know is that kung lao (the original) is the main character in it.

Some episodes are worth buying. I watched the entire first season and loved it. Then, it went downhill...
Mortal Kombat Conquest is outstanding. Its 10 times better than the films. I have every DVD of Conquest and i like near enough every episode. There is 22 episodes. My faves are 'Noob Saibot' and 'In Kold Blood'. Which are both on the Queen DVD. Its a must! All the DVD's of them are good but the Queen DVD is the best. It has the 'wow' factor and features 1 of the best fights ive ever seen! (Reptile vrs 1 of his generals) 10/10! Buy all the DVDs noow!!! Although they are only out in PAL. So u will need a multi regional player

Yes, it definatly is worth it. It does kinda suck that it is only out in PAL format. I would probably get an all-region DVD player just for this series.

Lui Kang was a good start. Sonya would be a good next choice.

I wouldn't, it was pretty cheesy and butchered the plot, Scorpion was around during Kung Lao's time? Right.

Just win them off ebay. They go DIRT cheap as far as DVDs go, but they are region 2. However, I heard rumours that they will be released here within the year.

The series was bad because it didn't follow the game's storyline perfectly? Where's the logic?

People, people, buy the boxset from the link I gave. They're cheap as hell and are region free!

I'm considering making a purchase. Does that play.com place ship to the US? I noticed the price was in Euro and no info on where they ship to under their "help" FAQs. Also is this the entire series, first season, or random couple of eps? I noticed some products, VCDs I believe, have really shitty order (ie first episode and 9th episode, while another disc has second with fifth). It seems dirt cheap for full series. Also, how's the quality if you own it?
