In case anyone cares or hasn't been watching Twitter (I get emails), there is some progress being done on the Mortal Kombat 2 movie. Recently, Todd Gardner met with Shang Tsung and Sub-Zero actors, you can follow Todd Gardner on his verified Twitter: https://twitter.com/Todd_Garner

Also important to note, he has the #MortalKombat2 hashtag in his profile, a few of his posts have it too, and he has the MK2 Movie teaser (the Scorpion spear in the shape of a 2) as his avatar.

I haven't been following this project like I have in the past and will only make mentions when I feel it's important. If anyone knows the best source (Reddit, Youtube, etc) where people are talking it up I'd like to know.

I heard from a poster here filming begins in the Summer, suggesting these meetings are all pre-production, and also suggesting this sequel will be as tight-lipped as possible like the last film, i.e. not worth trying to cover religiously because they are not as likely to reveal anything aside from the accidental leak, if those even happen again.

If anyone does happen to have a script for this film (very unlikely) I'd love to look at it but of course no rush and it can even wait until the film is released because this time I'd like to be surprised and not left justifying a shitstorm.

Here's hoping.

I agree. After last time WB won't be letting the script leak so easily.

I asked on Twitter about the rumor about shooting beginning this summer, but Todd himself replied me that he had heard about it...and NO.
