I found this on Reddit. This is not my experience watching the film - I have not watched it. However, this is based on someone who saw the Advanced screening back in December (I think it was in Arizona?). I am ONLY posting this because the information matches what I know from the leaked 2018 script I own AND what we know through the recently-released publicity photos, synopsis, press release, HBO Max trailer, and leaks.

Although they leave out a couple of the character names, it does indeed sound very legitimate with what I know. It was also posted a month ago before we even knew about the opening scene:

Ok guys so I just spoke with someone that saw the screening, and gave me TONS of info. I’ll list what I know and answer questions. Cole Turner is the main character/descendent of scorpion and is a MMA fighter for money A certain “invisible” ninja makes a brief cameo, out of costume(full CG) A certain “Prince” who previously ruined someone sunglasses makes a appearance. Fights our main character. NO Johnny or Kitanna Gory! “There’s definitely someone holding a beating heart at one point” NOT like Deadpool. Dark with a sprinkle of jokes A certain Icy Ninja is the main villain, gets a good amount of screen time Main character get most screen time( obviously) followed by the Kano and Sub Zero. Shang Tsung and Raiden get the least amount of screen time , and Scorpion gets less than that Scorpion gets the “epic” opening scene, as Hanzo, and the final battle as Scorpion Sonya wears “regular clothes” as she’s just a regular person in most of the movie. Raiden clowns her for coming to the temple because she isn’t a fighter, until she “kills someone and gets their mark” Sonya is in special forces with Jax, they are learning about the “mark”. Her, Kano and Cole go find Radiens temple together We see how Jax loses his arms( very gory) A certain tyrant of the Outworld throne makes an appearance Shang Tsung would technically be the main villain, but they focus more on Sub Zero. Less of a tournament, more of the characters fighting, cutting back and fourth between different fights Kabal is awesome, has the MK11 costume. You never see him out of costume. Sub Zero is in his MKX costume Lui Kang gets the full Bruce Lee treatment. Uses fire a lot. White tank top and black joggers. He comes in around the middle of the movie. The person that saw the movie doesn’t remember much about Kung Lao outfit besides the hat Fight scenes were dope, dialogue was a bit meh, assume more scenes will be added for clarity in certain situations Sub Zero Look GREAT, so did Scorpion when he “came back” Kano was “one of the best characters” A lot of CG was missing, the version that was shown still had a lot of greyscale where cg would be. Cole gets saved from Sub Zero by Jax and meets up with Sonya to find out what the MK symbol means. I asked so “Kanos a good guy?” They said “ Lol I won’t spoil Kano for you” From the what we talked about, it sounds like the film will be better than what we expected. Sounds like some of the stuff from the leaked script is true, but with changes for the better. They are setting up this movie for a sequel, so some familiar faces are missing. Cameos that we don’t expect, but some characters got killed off that we would have loved to get more from. If I come across anything else, I will let you guys know. Thanks for sharing! I've been combing the mk leaks subreddit for some time. I do believe that a lot of that is correct, but I think some of it is inaccurate. The person who leaked the original script commented further and said so.

I think there's a good chance that the inaccuracies are just a result of human forgetfulness, but it could be a compilation of leaks from various sources.

Correction: I had to use my phone but I did find the leaker's comments. Keep in mind the poster is basing his post off of someone else's experience and the poster didn't even upload a ticket stub or anything to verify this account.

With that said, the leaker said "maybe 3 things" were wrong before going to to say a few things were rehashed from leaks. Keep in mind too the leaker has not specify or gave inference he even watched the screening, so he would have no actual knowledge what was in the film, and in this case, an advanced "workprint" screening of the film. Plus, the original leaker isn't the only definitive source on these matters - anyone of us with copies of the scripts who read it can provide the same amount of information and verification.

I do like the format of the poster from his friend as it reminded me of the MK Annihilation days where people posted their first impressions. We couldn't exactly do it with MK1 because message boards weren't exactly popular yet and fan pages were just starting to get popular but didn't takd off until 1997 when the Internet became more widespread.

That would be me, Goro, that you are referring to as the leaker. A few of the statements were problematic in the person's post, mostly due to generic statements based around the scripts.

It's possible the person could be telling the truth, but the info from the leaked scripts has been known for a while. Reddit has been filled with supposed "leakers" for a year now, using a mixture of accurate and made-up information. The majority I find to be thrill-seekers and trolls.

As always, I would take everything in there with a grain of salt. It doesn't seem as problematic as other supposed "leaks" that have surfaced.

Any additional info I have is kept close to me. It's been the only way that I've been able to help debunk bogus claims. Though the releasing of the new opening has now unveiled one piece of info that I've only hinted about since the interview I did with Realm Kast.
