No, I'm not talking about Dragon Ball Z animation. For those of you who have seen the Japanese movie, Ninja Scroll, you know what I am talking about. that's a more relistic type of cartoon. I don't know if I should even call it a cartoon, but, I thought that it was very very cool. And, I think that it would be even cooler, if they made a J-animation movie, based on the MK series. I'd pick that over Ninja Scroll, any day.
Yeah, that'd be great!! I think japanese animation is the best in the world!! Most of the things they make are good in some way. Japanese anime stories (at least the ones that are exported abroad) possesses imagination, quality and good taste. Take for instance mkdefenders of the realm, or the animated mk movie (the one that had rendered images in) and compare them to akira, ghost in the shell, robotech, harlock, dbz itself, the list is endless!! and all are impressive!...there's no single chance the first two could win!!
In the case of ninja scroll, it has some of the most shocking scenes of blood ive ever seen in a movie, together with devilman or the urotsukidoji saga. Theres a scene for instance, where a gigantic guy made of rock rips a guy's arms off and then drinks the blood dripping from them...it reminded me of jax's fatality so much!!! and this is just a little show.
I think that leaving a mk animated movie in hands of japanese people would be a good idea, at least it would give a different vision of the mk world, which is always very interesting to see.

i think a mk anime would be totally amazing. when i watch ninja ressurection that dead ninja guy with the yellow mask looks so much like scorpion and he takes it off and his mouth is bone like scorpion. i can only think of the possibilities. anime has such great art and story to them. mk would only enhance it.

An anime version of Mortal Kombat could indeed be awesome. The animated version of Street Fighter is, in my opinion, the best video game-based movie around.
I'd love to see the anime Mortal Kombat done in the classy, computer-aided style as seen in the Animatrix. Also, Japanese cartoons are very good at handling excessive blood and gore, which is something that's been missing from the current MK movies and TV shows.
Yep, this is a good idea. Make it happen, now. Now.

I think it'd be great, Anime's are great and a MK one would kick ass. I have the first video of MK: The animated series (the one with the cgi fights in it) and think that'll be a whole lot better if it was anime.
Ninja Scroll is excellent and combine the gore from that, with the fight's from Ghoast in the Shell, and we'd have a winner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

::twitches:: it would be cool. IF they had good animators(like the ones that did Iria). i don't think i could stand to watch it if it was in a style simaler to the streetfighter2 movie. (which was good for that game.)

Oh my god they have to do this, done by the guy who did Ninja Scroll [ my fave manga after Akira]
it would be amazing!
it would be amazing!

if they had nothing better to do, why not?
funny. In the first game, they converted character sprites from real life, while most games used drawn fighters. And if now they turned MK into a drawn anime thing, even if they could make movie with real-life actors... it would be strange.
been a while since I saw ninja scroll.

Sounds hella awesome! If it's done right they'd nail it! The MK stories do seem kind of Anime story like to me. ...Hopefuly they'll get good animators. (Sudders at the thought of a Yu Gi Oh type Sub-Zero and Scorpion "MY EYES THEY BURN!")
I'm for it!
I'm for it!

LMAO! Oh god no.
I think that Akira, Ninja Scroll, Ghost in The Shell, and The Animatrix(The Second Renaissance)are very good examples. It should definately be done like that.

I think that it would be horrible to have Mortal Kombat as Japanese anime. I mean, I love anime, and I love Mortal Kombat, but I just believe that the two should not be mixed. I once saw an anime/manga version of X-Men, and another of Lord of the Rings. Those things were total disgraces to their origins. I just don't see how Mortal Kombat could be done well in anime form. It already has a cartoon and you see what it's like. I don't think it'll get much better story-wise, maybe cleaner in the animations, but probably as disgraceful as MKA or MKC in the story department.
They'd have a lot of work to do to make that cartoon good, and I don't think that's something that Midway would willingly put a lot of time and money into.
