Taja's friend, Dion, lured Taja, Siro and Kung Lao to a hidden, mysterious city. The citizens claim that their god, Shakaa, will be coming to Earth very soon. Siro, Kung Lao and Taja think this is very strange, but just as they are planning to leave the city, they are captured thanks to Dion, who is actually working for Shao Kahn. Shao Kahn has been telling the citizens of Shaakana(the hidden city) that he is their god, for centuries. Now, they must sacrifice Kung Lao. Just as Kung Lao is being beaten by the shadow priest warrior, Rayden shows up and clears the way for the trio to escape. While Lao, Siro and Taja return to the trading post in Zhu Zhin, Rayden walks into the portal with Shao Kahn, both of them ending up in a neutral, dark realm.
They begin to talk about how it's been centuries since they last found themselves face to face, and how Shao Kahn's power is decreasing, as he is surrounded by enemies and traitors. However, as they talk about each individual traitor, the correspondent character gets slaughtered by the shadow priests (Reptile, Kiri, Vorpax, Quan Chi, Siann, Shang Tsung and Kitana). After watching Kitana die, Siro, Kung Lao and Taja decide that they have to go and try to help Rayden, but the path to Shakaana has been locked again, so they search for Omegis, the immortal sorceress, as they come to the conclusion that she's the only one that can help them now.
Omegsis seems to be sure that everyone is going to die, but she still helps the trio get into Shakaana, only to end up being followed by a shadow priest herself.
As the trio finds the portal where Rayden is in, hundreds of Shadow priests begin to surround them, and attack them. Siro, Taja and Kung Lao get killed by the priests, and a fight between Kahn and Rayden ensues. In the end, Rayden finally has Kahn beaten. He aims his palm at the emperor, and tries to blast him into Outworld, but his powers aren't working for some reason. Kahn gets up, laughing victoriously, and reveals to Rayden that the so called neutral zone they were in was actually a small portal, slowly bringing them into Outworld, where Rayden is powerless. Kahn beats Rayden senseless, and then goes back to sitting on his throne, where Rayden is brought before him, kneeling down. Earth is under attack and being absorved by Kahn's portals. Kung Lao's belt of the mortal kombat champion lies on the forgotten grounds of the trading post, nothing more than a useless memory.

Hey man I live in Melbourne and they showed every episode on channel 9. The last few episodes they changed the timeslot to Monday or Tuesday (cant remember) at about 1am. They did show the last episode too and I taped it. I was able to tape about 15-16 episodes but I'd rather have the DVD's. I've seen them at JB-HiFi for $20.00.

What state r u in?

sorry, my mistake, i guess i did see the last episode. i thought since rayden was defeated and they had one last glimpse of kung lao's belt, there would be one last episode which showed how khan wouldve been defeated and rayden would escape, but i guess i was wrong. sorry for the inconvenience, and thanx a lot anyways Zentile for your response, it cleared a lot of things up that i didnt understand in that episode.
