I think there's a lot of confusion over what he's suing over in this thread, so let me attempt to shed some light here...

The original contract (from 1993!) between Midway and Threshold stated Threshold Entertainment has the legal rights to movies/TV etc. Since WB is purchasing WB, the question is - what happens to this contract? Does Threshold get to keep the rights, or can WB do whatever the heck they want?

That's what this lawsuit is about. No money will be awarded to the winner, the judge is simply going to decide whether Threshold keeps their movie and TV rights or not.

And now on a personal note....

IMO, Threshold is scared because they realize they've been sitting on a hot property and doing nothing with it, and now it seems their time could run out.
