...With all of the merhandice that the Mortal Kombat series has dished out. and with all the popularity it has attained, it's a "given" that MK is a wonderful franchise, but, when you really think about it, MK has yety to come close to reaching it's full glory--especially when it comes to films.
When I watch Peter Jackson turn a story about a ring (Lord of the Rings) into such a big phenonmenon, I start to think that it is kind of sad that a story as genious as Mortal Kombat has'nt had has much greatness (on the big screen), on the contrary, it's been taken very lightly, so much, that it's even tragic.
I just think that whoever is working on the next project should really take what they're doing seriously.

I thought Mortal Kombat 1 was a good movie. A videogame movie thats actually good, can't ask for anything better than that.

Your right about Peter Jackson though, I never seen any of the LotR movies but they are one of the biggest movie series ever. It seems like Jackson knows how to make really good fantasy movies, so if he were to sign on to make the next MK Film, I Gurentee that the Mortal Kombat franchise will reach the level of greatest it deserves.

Please, don't get me wrong. I'm not knocking the MK films. If it came off that way, then I have to clarify things.

Mortal Kombat(1) was done well done...there are some things about the movie that I would have changed, but, being a videogame based film, it was the best I have seen. It actually exceeded my expectations-me being as young and naive as I was, then.

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, was where they went wrong. I won't get into it, but, all I will say is that, whoever worked on this movie, should not be working on another MK project. This movie annihilated the chances of there being future projects.

I believe they were on the right track with MK:Conquest, this was really an Awesome series, because, it gave justice to the amazing storyline. It's a tragedy that it had to be ended the way it did.

The point that I'm trying to make is that, although Mortal Kombat has done GREAT things, there is still much lying dormant, and, if someone does'nt pick up the slack, it will the a waste of a great series.

what do you think?
