First! Dayum, that has become my favorite episode of the series! Until next week, that is.

I liked it, because it represented Scorpion in a different light than any other media has. You had to feel sorry for the guy when you see him with his family, knowing that they'd all soon be dead. I'd always just thought of him as Scorpion the spectre, never as Hanzo the family man.
There's been very few representations (if any) of Scorpion as the "good guy" and Sub-Zero as the "bad guy". I like the unique angle the story went in. However, the music during the fight left something to be desired.

I guess Quan and Shang were the dudes who came to Scorpion's house before the ambush, explains why their eyes started glowing blue like that. @T-Rex: Feudal Japan, I think it was mentioned in an interview a while ago. I'm guessing sorta like MK:Conquest, it's a generational rivalry kinda thing this time around.

I read somewhere that it takes place a long time ago, I don't know enough of Japanese history to tell you when. The feud between SZ & S is supposed to be an "ancient" feud, according to the director. Why he chose to put it in that time era is beyond me- modern time wouldv'e sufficed and made more sense storyline-wise.
It amuses me the characters know- and refer to each other by- their actual, legal names instead of the code names that we all know them by.

So wait, you mean that "Sub-Zero" is not the only name passed down through generations? And that it's apparently a law that every bearer of the Scorpion name is legally bound to be named Hanzo Hasashi, and every first-born Sub-Zero in a generation must be named Bi-Han?
Because that would be kinda stupid.

That or Quan-Chi is going to be an asshole and keep him youthful for many years as well as having Scorpion become a hellspawn.
2. Japan here is possibly made to resemble feudal times without that literally being the case which I wouldnt put ps them considering that Deacon City is extremely futuristic in this series for the sake of asthetic.

It seems to me that Scorpion knew something was fishy with the two of them, yet he left anyhow.

Hey, I dunno man, I didn't make this decision, Kevin Tancharoen did! Go Jurassic Park on his ass, not me!! O_O Damn that coca cola for making me screwy. That was pretty cool seeing that Subbie has his ice powers, though. Well, I guess it's bedtime, staying up past 4 isn't good for the body, so night night.

@ Spider- I wasn't questioning you or your post- I agree with you that the two men were probably none other than Quan Chi and Shang Tsung. I was wondering why Scorpion left his humble abode when it seemed to me like he thought strange things were afoot. I was questioning what he was thinking. Stop drinking so much caffeine and go to bed or else I'll sic the velicoraptors on you.
Kidding, of corse, Spidy.
