A lot of people feel Mortal Kombat's plot is thin, thus unable to produce a very good movie.

I say that's BS. I personally feel the FIRST (NOT the second) Mortal Kombat movie is one of the BEST Video game adaptions!

And, the plot of Mortal Kombat in terms of it's Myth and all those games, is NOT really as thin as some people like to think, either.

It's pretty Rich, IMO.

It IS amazing and very easy to explore and create great stories, characters and environments.

I think MK would make a kickass tv show. Conquest was amazing, but if they focused a little less on playboy models and martial arts and a little more on characters and the mythos I'm sure it would be a legit awesome tv show.

Conquest was great the way it was and i think that the MK universe just needs some more depth on the mythology and background for every character.
Some character like Liu Kang and johnny cage haven't a backstory(in fact the move team totally created a revenge by Liu kang for the death of his brother and a love interest between Cage and Sonya...both uncanonical elements).
