There have been questions raised as to what exactly was the first poster for the movie. I have heard a teaser posted existed with nothing but the dragon logo. Next I heard only the tagline was added. The list goes on. But what I have been able to find out, and need help from those in the U.S. with these posters, is that they do not all have the MCMXCV copyright year - the one that says Spring 1995 has the MCMXCIV year, which means 1994, which means it makes sense because the movie was scheduled for May so obviously promotion would have began much earlier. And, of course, any poster that once said Spring 1995 had to come before the one that said August 1995.
If anyone can help me identify some of these years and try to track down the first teaser poster and let me know the correct order, other than the obvious ones I lentioned (and of course, Begins August 18 would have come after the one with just August).
some of the confusion I think I am having is that I'm assuming many of the ads that appeared in magazines were also posters but I've noticed most of those ads are on sale at poster sites so I should be safe to assume they were also posters and that many people think the August 18th one was the first one displayed in theaters.
Thanks and hopefully you learned something new.
Feel free to do this for foreign posters as well, just let me know what country it's from :)
