I just watched Resident Evil last night and of course it is from the same director as Mortal Kombat, Paul Anerson. Now I noticed that Resident Evil was MUCH more gorier than MK and even had scenes that just SCREAMED MK(the laser scene. Looked like freakin fatalities). So this leaves me wondering. WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED? CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHO'S BRIGHT IDEA WAS IT TO MAKE MK PG-13? I MEAN COME ON. I'VE PLAYED BOTH GAMES AND AS GRUESOME AS RE IS, MK IS 5 TIMES AS MUCH!...I just feel like we were cheated out of what could have been a perfect MK experience. God, I hope if Anderson is the one directing the sequel(too many damn rumors going around about EVERYTHING) that he'll do it right(not to say that the first wasn't great or anything). I'm just saying, if any movie has an excuse to be gory, it's MK......*sigh* but I guess marketing got in the way and they wanted to market it to teenagers(even though the games were CLEARLY marked M-Mature so it doesn't matter)..Oh who am I kidding. I'm 16 and lucky enough to be able to get into R rated movies easily.

Yeah, I agree. Resident Evil would have been shit without the gore. MK on the other hand was focused more on the fighting and the story. They wanted to sell more so they made it mild enough for 10 year olds to get in.

But now that nobody thinks that MK is going to be good and the sales are going to be low...they might as well show the gore this time. Anyways If any of you are under 17, sneak in- it's that simple.

Exactly. I mean teenagers are practically running movie theaters as it is anyway.

Mortal Kombat should of had more gore. The experience would of been one hundred times better for true mortal kombat fans. Ohh well!!! glasses . By the way I worked at a movie theatre as a manager and the only reason we don't card for rated R movies is that you little kids almost seem pathetic in your attempts to get in, so I give 15 and 16 year olds a break, but not 12.

Grimgrin directors don't decide how much gore is in a movie, but i agree there should have been some in mk.
