Probably because it was photoshopped. This is the same retard who said the trailer would drop on the 25th of January (yeah, YESTERDAY) between 10AM-12PM EST. Image is from some guy on reddit for mortalkombatleaks

I'll believe it when I see it at this point.

UPDATE:

Newline confirmed it on their instagram. So yeah, February.

As mixed as my feelings are regarding this movie, I can't wait for the trailer. I really want to see more about it. I'm not getting my hopes up for an early February trailer date.

I was the one that posted the image on r/mortalkombatleaks. I think the twitter thread is from some guy whose handle is futureboy or something.

I'm guessing we'll get a trailer sometime between February 1st and the Super Bowl, though I don't think WB is going to spend that much for an ad unless to promote HBO Max

Given the fact bigger companies are scaling back their ads or pulling them altogether, I don't expect WB/HBO max to advertise anything during the Superbowel.
