Next mk film: A revision or a sequel of the past films?

Ok i havent been really following the status of the new film but is it going to be "retelling" where they gonna start from the beginning or is it going to be a sequel of MkA, and would you like to see them get a fresh start or continue from where the films left off.
It's a continuation I think. The storyline is based on Deadly Alliance so I would't be shocked if they kill Liu Kang. I just can't wait to see Quan Chi and to see Scorpion return to the big screen!

They say they are gonna pretend like MKA never happened, and was all a dream or something.

It is also rumored that MK: Deveastation will follow the events of MK4 or MKDA (or maybe a combination of the two) but you can't even be sure the film is going to be made at the moment...let alone what plot direction / storyline they are gonna follow.
