MKFOMA was phenomenal. It had a FANTASTIC storyline going on, especially for just a little internet thing. Even though all the fights that you could actually watch were just the tournament bouts (with the exception of the fight between the babyfaces and heels at the end of Jax's trial) , the entire storyline was quite intense. It wasn't exactly a show though.
It was sort of like the mortal kombat world and it's warriors were real, and you'd check the website for updates on what's been happening. You could read reports from the Outworld ''reporters'', the earth reporters, etc. You could read reports on the same events but from different points of view, which just furthered the depth of the story.
It had fantastic events, like Shao Kahn actually being captured by Rayden. Guarding his cell so no one could bust him out, were Fujin, Omegis, Nightwolf and I think someone else but I cant recall off the top of my head.
The fights, as amateur as they looked, were still alot better than anything any fans have ever made, and it used some of the same actors and props and costumes from the movies and tv show, which was also a bonus (and even though it was wrong for Sub-Zero to wear Reptile's face mask, it was still kinda cool in it's own cult-ish little way).
It was really phenomenal, and I was a total mark for it. I remember I knew when the site would update weekly, I think it was at 21:00 on Fridays or everyday or something, and during that time I'd go to the computer and just press update ont he browser until the FOMA news were updated. One day, they just stopped getting updated.
