Will the new MK movie take off where the last one ended or will it skip to MK4, possibly even MK:DA?
If you think about though, they kinda incorperated characters from UMK3, MK3, and MK2 into the MK2 movie.

Hello, im new here and also from Holland so I hope I won't make many mistakes...But I too have a question about MK movies...I've seen two movies from MK: the first one where Lui Kang defeats Shang Shung and where Johnny defeats Goro..And in the second movie Lui Kang becomes a dragon and defeats Shoa Kahn..Besides these two movies I saw several MK Conquest ''movies'' with Siro, Taja and Kung Loa but I really don't know what the Conquest movies are about:S..I don't know Siro or Taja from the games...anyway, my question is: are there, besides the two i've named, other MK movies wich I haven't seen yet? In Holland MK isn't that popular..

Scorpianskullfatality, I would say that MK3 will either be about MKda or start off from the end of that and go into MKD, the movie's name is supposedly MK:Domination. That sounds like the DK to me, and I think they'll just pretend like MKA never happened (cus MK1 Raiden and Johnny Cage are back, so the MKA actors will be forgotten.)
The movies you're talking about are Mortal Komabt: The Movie and Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. There were no other movies released in cinemas for MK, but there is an Animated movie called MK: The Journey begins. It is a preview to the 1st MK movie really, and is a cartoon/computer graphics movie, its from 1995 so the computer stuff doesnt look too good now, but it wasn't bad for back then. I have it and I dont mind it. It has a Scorpion vs Sub Zero fight (in Outworld which of course is wrong,) they show the Great Kung Lao vs Goro 500+ years ago, they show how Shang Tsung beat the Temple of Light master to win MK YEARS ago, and a fight in the Shokan realm between Goro, and his brother Durac.
MKConquest was a TV show (not bad actualy) that was only on for one season, then got canned. There was also a cartoon set after the MK3 game, called MK: Defenders of the Realm, its not terrible - but is more for kids, as is the Animated movie.
There is a 3rd MK movie that was supposed to start filming this month, if everythings on schedule it should be out late 05, or most likely sometime in 06.

Hey man, welcome to the board.
There are only two movies made, the third one is underway.
MK Conquest are not really movies, just tv episodes, There is also the cartoon MK, you can buy those epidodes at FreeRecord shop, they are really cheap.

Im glad that the original Raiden is back, because I did not like his(raiden from mk2) short hair look in the second movie. It is possible that they could skip to MK:DA, or possibly incorperate both MK4 and MK:DA together. There was rumor going on that Frost would appear in the third movie. And I wish that the old mortal kombat cartoons came back on.

and where did you hear that rumor about frost beeing in part3??

It's true. Kung Lao from the official MortalKombat.Com forum confirmed she was in the script a while back, and that Sung Hi Lee will likely play as her. I actually remember this info to this day.
The Unnoficial MK Site and MK Revolution I'm pretty sure have this info.

Thats correct. The threshold network is never updated, but if you go into one of their links they have I guess official press confrences from midway stating some stuff and whatnot..but its usually new info. But if you go into the official mk3 movie site or whatever they have news of frost being in mk3. so who knows.

okay thank you all for your answers! Does anyone know how many episodes there are from MK Conquest?I've got 4 episodes on DVD, but with an open ending. Now that I know there are more episodes from 1 season, i'd like to buy them too=)
I've got many questions about MK, but there's one that keeps spinning on my mind. I've read the biographies from all the MKs on this site..and in MK DA, Lui Kang is dead. But in MK 4, he isn't. And I can't find anywhere, why he's suddenly dead. I suppose shang shung killed him? Sorry for all my questions:$ Im a rookie, although I played MK quite often when i was younger

Shang Shung killed him and took his soul. Where did you get those DVDs on MK Conquest? Well, anyway I hope the movie is based on MK:DA, because I'd to see more of that fight between Scorpion and Quan Chi.

I bought those DVD's at Kruidvat Very cheap. But I suppose there isn't a Kruidvat where you live. Anyway, in Holland they can be bought but i read something about not-able-to-watch-conquest-in-the-VS, only in Europe, or something like that.

As far as i know there are about 5 dvd's of MKC, try looking at the FreeRecordShop in the Discount section, there is another dvd with Taja on the cover, i believe that is the final DVD, but there are many episodes wich are not on DVD
I actually think it will be based in MKDA with little elements from Mk4.
SHIT! If I was the director I would make this the next Mk movies like a trilogy or something, in order to add all important characters with a decent role and storyline.
The Mk story is too big to only last 1:30 hour. We need a 2:30-3 hour movie.

Yeah, i'm dutch too, I don't know how people will respond if we started talking dutch inhere, so thats why i'm speaking english.
As far as I know there is no complete set om MKC dvd's out there, the fact that american MKO members ask us how to get these dvd's leads me to believe that it isn't complete.
I have 5 MKC dvd's, they put 2 episodes in 1 dvd and blended them together. So it seems that it contains one episode. The whole Quan Chi, Rain and Noob Saibot isn't on DVD, or else I would have found it allready. Luckely I have everything on videotape.

An official plot for MK3 hasn't been released, but I heard that one of the scenes cut was at the end when Shinnok asks Quan Chi in the Netherealm if everything was going as planned, Quan Chi nodded yes, so I guess the plot will follow MK4 IF they choose to not ignore the MKA storyline.

PS, my episodes only have taja, siro, kung lao, scorpion and sub zero in it..okay and some other fighters like Vorpax..but mileena, kitana and so on, haven't shown up at all...christ, i cant explain it in a shorter way :D

So it's true, the series are not complete. The five dvd's I have make up for only half the episodes. I mis many episodes with shang tsung and quan chi, also with Rain, Kitana and Mileena.
I have searched everywhere, but I cant find the missing episodes, dammit
