Not Exactly, because you could ignore the movie, and make it a later sequel to Devastation that is supposed to be comming out...or make it apart of MK Conquest...the reason why this is being discussed is because Devastation the new MK movie is ignoring the events of MK Annihilation and I thought it should be apart of MK Conquest, and maybe a later sequel instead of a sequel to the first movie and besides you could modify the movie to make it fit, so yeah, um...burn!

Them boys at Threshold Entertainment did say that they were going to ignore it... but will they actually ignore it is the main factor. We hear them talking. But will they do it? That is the question. But hell, if they're gonna do all that, then they should just REDO the Entire Movie. And their next project should be based off of the last three games... Deadly Alliance, Deception, and Armageddon. And for it's title, it should be called

MORTAL KOMBAT: INSURRECTION

Let's take a look at this:

1. The story of Smoke and Sub-Zero was messed up.

2. Scorpion never worked for Kahn.

3. Kahn is Raiden's brother, and Shinnok is their father. That is completely wrong, and probably the hugest mistake they could have made.

4. Shinnok dies even before Kahn.

5. Nightwolf never taught Liu Kang his Animality.

Now let's look at the important people that are needed for future films that they killed off in MKA.

Ermac
Baraka

Kabal
Stryker
Mileena
Johnny Cage (Not really important, but he is one of the main guys)

It would be impossible to follow the game's storyline with all of these things that they've done. The best thing for them to do would be remake an MK3/MK4 based movie (They could fit MK4 into the end of the movie. It has a very short storyline), and then make an MKDA/MKD/MKA movie.

^ Dude, yes it was. Anybody and Everybody who saw that movie knows this. This should be a world record... the first B-Movie to ever hit Theatres

There is an update on the Unofficial MK 3 Movie site that said that the Mortal Kombat movies may be rearranged from their current position to different positions, for example:

1. Mortal Kombat
2. Mortal Kombat Devastation
3. Mortal Kombat Annihilation

I put them in that order(the order is what I think they should be in) since they are ignoring the events from Annihilation to make Devastation.

We all understand that MK Annihilation should have been remade in order to fit some of the story line for future movies.

Mistake 1: Right of the bat they kill off Johny Cage, how dumb is that!

Mistake 2: Different actors except for Liu and Kitana and so on, they should have kept the same ones.

Mistake 3: They killed too many characters for future MK movies, such as Cyrax, Smoke, Ermac, Rain, Baraka, etc.

Mistake 4: They messed up the story lines: Noob is apart of Ermac, where he should be his own self, Smoke should be a ninja first, then become a cyborg in the third movie, just have him defeated by Liu Kang, that makes the defeat look like he is dead or something like that. Although, I do like the idea that Raiden, Shao Kahn, and Shinnok are family, but they should of got someone better for Shinnok, he was just a bag of bones, an old fart that if he threw a punch a bone would crack, they should of got someone else.

There are many more, I just wanted to prove Pinemartin wrong again about how the movie should be made to fit the after math of the first MK and for the sake of the future MK movies. Also, I wanted to fire up the thread, and make for more of a debate, and to give you all a side note.

You know for many years sequels have runied the legacy of so many great films and MK Annihilation was one of the worst offenders, I really enjoyed the first MK movie but could barely stomach Annihilation and I would not shed a tear if NE1 decided to disregard it completely and make the 3rd Mk movie follow straight on from the first. Heck I would even petition to make it happen.

Yeah, I know the first movie was excellent, and Annihilation was just a bad move on Thresholds part . . . besides I would petition as well CrispyDragon, if they make the 3rd movie a sequel to the first . . . like I have said in later posts, MK Annihilation should be remade, banished, or become apart of another media spawn off of MK, but not the movies.

the answer is that we wish we could expell these misfits, but we cant. the failures of the producers and directors of these sequals have left an unremovable stigma on the series. all we can do is hope that they go to hell for their sins against man.

MK ahnialation is a good movie but i feel it should be ignored with the making on MK devisitation

-noob saibot is part of ermac
-rain dies for basically no reason (he would own kahn in real life)
-theres more than 1 reptile even tho his race is extinct
-smoke has sektors missile
-raiden gets a new look (GAY)
-raiden is not Chris Lambert (better IMO)
-scorpion has a sense of humor ("SUCKERS!")
-special effects look like cheap tv series (sub ice bridge)
-baraka looks like an ugly dog face
-kabal and stryker taken and basically their storys end right there
-cyrax's net isnt acid (or mk3 would be easy)
-kahns face is deformed in MKSM (not in Mk ahnialation)
-no way nightwolf would teach everybody their animality
-cyrax and smoke are made by kahn
-we all know johny cage cannot die
-jade gets eaten by some dumbass thing
-elder gods dont punish the rulebreakers till they have too at the end
-theres only 2 edergods shown
-turns into Godzilla near the end

thats not even scratching the surface compaired to what i have heard
