Yea i totally agree that it should be rated R. Yes it is MK and there should be a fatality or two+ more violent scences but they should aslo make it very dramatic, the first movie had great suspense and build up to the last fight scence between Lui and Shang.

MK3 must be dramatic in some way or epic, especially the last fight scnece it has to be brutal and make audiences feel for the characters. I have a great one but its quite long to explain so i may make a thread if ppl want it.

It should definately be rated R. The first one was alright, but the main thing that made Mortal Kombat popular was missing: The gore. The only blood we saw in the entire movie was when Shang Tsung hurt his lip. That's a crock of crap.. I wanna see heads flying and blood spurting. So if they're gonna make yet another MK movie without the blood, I'm sure I'll be dissatisfied. Plus, why would kids be playing a bloody game if they couldn't get in a bloody movie? I mean, seriously, blood is highly overrated. It's not that bad, and it's what attracted MK's beginning audience. So.. I second the fact it should be Rated R.

the 3rd should be R rated.....it will allow them more room to add in better deaths which is was mk was founded on.....spinal head rips, burning and exploding heads. Now with that...watch out because too much will make it lame. MK1 was good i liked the movie and the fight scenes were good (scorpion and johnny my fav fight) but MK3 has alot to make up for....part 2 was utter crap....stop lyin to yourselves. funding was short and it F*#@ed up the whole story line....i must have missed shinnok in MK2 the game coz according to the movie he was in it....what was motaro doing in MK2???too many characters and they got killed off way too quick seeing them was nice but they were wasted....sheeva definately wasted lol. anyways it should be R rated so they can do more graphic things.

As long as the script is well written and the action is believable, I'll enjoy it. We don't need any more horrible lines and terrible character development like, "When I need back-up I'll radio for it." Also, the pseudo Obi-wan job Kitana tried to pull in the first movie was god awful. The movie makers need to take this project seriously and work hard on the script, casting and special effects.

The R rating would be nice. But I don't think it's necessary.

Its not that parents of younger children would have a problem with them seeing a movie rated R because of violence, its usually because theres a tit or some fucking in there or somethin like that. Hell, a lot of PG-13 movies are violent anyway. Do we REALLY need to see Liu Kang shoot a fireball up Sheeva's ass? No, we don't. That would be disgusting anyway, if its just violence, it should be rated PG-13.

If I got into Mortal Kombat was 'cause of the blood. I was happy with the first film 'cause, even if there was blood missing, the story was good, but the was a hole in the fact that the abilities weren't shown much.
The second one was just disapointing: no blood, caracters made a two second apearences, fights were lame an without the abilities and story sucked.
Now, If a good story and a good caracters line up(none invented, there are enough caracters as there is, exploite them), good fights, great abilities and some gore would be part of the film it'd be great.
