The next MK movie is pretty much dead, as of yet. It has been in what producers call 'development hell' for years, wich means it's script is being rewritten and rewritten all the time, there hasn't been any news about it for years, apart from some suposedly interview with Chris Casamassa and some other dude.

Let's face it, it's been eleven years since Annihilation, we were first informed that Mortal Kombat Devastation was to be released in somewhere around 2002 or 2003, but then... nothing. Producers said the Katrina disaster stoped the shooting wich was taking place in New Orleans, and since then, there has been practicaly NO fucking vivid proof of this movie ever being completed.

This tears my heart (LOOL, emo response), but we've gotta face it, the MK film franchise is as good as dead right now, period.

Maybe they decide to start up fresh, in 2010 (this is the date they've givven us, although it seems to me it is just to increase our waiting, and then 2010 arrives and nothing on screen...) and save MK -- if MK9 reveals to be the GOD of fighting games -- but, for the present day, just don't think about. That way it won't hurt, just like i do.

You know while everyone is wanting this stupid redo of the series I am still not done with the current story that was never finished.I still want to see the story from mk3 or mk4 and so on.I still want a fucking sequel to MKA even though that movie kinda sucked.If they want to remake the second movie,FINE!But do not remake the first cause it still holds up well for today,imo.Either remake the second movie or make a fucking sequel to it.

We will get to 2010 and up the release date changes again to 2013.We get to 2013 and omg release date changes to 2014.Its a big fucking joke that they have been pulling ever since the second movie.For the last 10 years the date has changed so many times I can't even count.Its like when they run out of excuses they just keep their mouth shut and change the date and hope no one calls and ask questions.

well ive checked imdb and it said that the movie was still in productio, but hey imbd isnt always right. but i still think that there is still gonna be anoth mk movie. The second mk movies sucked and sucked bad but the first was one of my favorite movies
