Read the article here: https://www.inverse.com/entertainment/mortal-kombat-2021movie-cast-johnny-cage

Also Gardner said to expect a trailer in the Fall. So alittle longer wait but thats not long.

Do you think the cast/crew's reluctance to take advantage of the effects of COVID19 in March and April will make you more eager and hungry for the 2021 film or do you think it may cost them in the long run, especially if the film turns out different from what fans know MK as?

I can confirm, based on the 11/18 script, one of the alleged truths wasn't in the script and doubtful it will become true in the 2021 film.

Ugh... "fall" ... in other words November, the last damn month of the season.

Why is Todd Garner saying "We made sure every nationality was correct." when mk2021 will have a black millena

Maybe they couldn't find an actual Edenian/Tarkatan mutant hybrid to play the role...

Race and ethnicity are two different things, you dummy.

Mileena has never had a dark skin tone, which was what Stan was getting at. Besides, it's not like the actress they chose was super dark, so there shouldn't be an issue. I want the role to fit the actor/actress, not the skin color. In the end who gives a shit? Let's just have a good movie with the right people in it regardless of how they look. The costume, I think, is more important than the person's ethnicity and/or race.

Under certain lighting conditions this new Mileena can pass as having the "olive skin" you think Mileena should have which looks like a faint tan on white skin.

In all seriousness who cares. We all know the reasons they used white talent for characters the devels had written as Asian in their bios (Raiden / Scorpion, both originally Asian played by a white person).

And Raiden is STILL white in the games.

Daniel and Carlos Pesina are part Asian and in the bios it says gods can appear as anything and Raiden has always had glowing eyes so you cant tell if he is Asian or White and in mk9 it said sub zero was abducted as a child so we don't know where he is from he could be white or Asian and scorpion has never not been Asian in the mk9 flashbacks scorpion was Asian the reason why he looked white in mk1 was because Daniel Pesina looks white that's why he was also picked for Johnny Cage

I found out that Raiden is supposed to be 7 foot tall but he has never been that tall in the games for some reason

Right.... he can appear as anything yet he chooses to appear white every single time....

And WTF are you talking about Sub-Zero for? Look at his official vignette... you're telling me we DON'T know if he's asian?

I never saw this vignette so now i know i was wrong about Sub but Raiden can look like anything he wants why do you have a problem with him looking white and it wouldn't make sense for Raiden to just change his skin color out of nowhere

Yes, I have a problem with Raiden being white. He is a rip-off of Raijin (the Japanese god of thunder and lightning). MK was based on a lot of Asian mythology and for them to make him a white dude is just bonkers to me. Same goes for Fujin. It used to be obvious Fujin was inspired by another of the Three Storms in Big Trouble in Little China (just like Raiden was) and in MKX and MK11, his facial features look less and less Asian. I mean, NRS has social justice warrior all over them these days yet they're not giving much love to the Asian influence thrown all over MK's roots. I'm not asking for more Asian characters, I just wish they'd stick to the original ideas and thoughts of Tobais, regardless if he still works there. Maybe I am bias because I grew up watching asian martial arts movies much like Tobais did... and I am not a fan of this cow boys vs indians garbage with guns....... too many people have guns in MK now. Wow I got way off topic. I am just and old dog who misses MK1 and MK2.

Pretty much all the Asian caating is corrected in the upcoming film.

But yes it's annoying these character bios say one thing yet they are played by White actors. Especially when Asian myth and culture influenced the franchise in the first place.

With the cast of characters in this film I'm not excited at all for the new film. The leaked earlier script did not help either. This film was meant to reboot this franchise that Annihilation basically did to it what its title says it annihilated the Mortal Kombat movie franchise. When I heard of this film I was hyped up to see a new fresh movie based off of the original tournament perhaps similar to how Enter the Dragon was shot. You'd have your three main heroed Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade and Liu Kang getting to Shang's boat and we'd see flashbacks maybe as to what has happened to them to bring them to the points they are at now...heading to compete in Mortal Kombat. Sub-Zero would be on the boat and stalked by Scorpion and Raiden would be personally invited by Shang to the tournament. We'd also meet Goro before the actual tournament start and possibly several other later franchised MK fighters from MKII or MK3. Or maybe take the new 3 games and turn them into a trilogy of films. Last start with MK11 and use time travel with the hourglass and then do the first tournament.

So many possibilities but where is Johnny Cage in this film? So far if he is there his actor has not been revealed and would he have a fight scene or play a good intricate part of the story? Why is Nitara in this film? We get Mileena but no Kitana? Why is there a person credited as Audience Fight Member!?! Just looking at these titles and the main characters picked for this film it makes me highly doubtful it will be decent, especially if any part of the leaked earlier draft makes it into this film. This film does not need an original character like Resident Evil it has its own story that some of us really wanted to see brought to the big screen. We care about our favorite MK fighters from the game and especially the original 7. I hope they surprise us with a decent trailer that shows us all these leaks were just that and perhaps Lewis Tan, the unnamed actor is Johnny Cage? That I could handle. Only time will tell but right now in my opinion it doesn't look too good.

Wow how boring. So you just want to see a remake of the same stupid movie. The first movie WAS ALREADY like Enter the Dragon. In fact, most of the MK1 game was inspired from this movie and many other kung fu movies. I am so glad you're not writing the script for this film. It'd be like watching those Disney live action remakes of the same old boring story, just new actors and actresses with updated graphics. Terrible. Just terrible.

None of this has to do with the topic of this thread, by the way.
