Did anyone else hear about these two famous stars being casted, or asked to play the roles of Cage, and Sonya. From what I understand, Sharon Stone couldn't do the movie due to an injury, and turned it down. I'm not sure about Van Dam though?

Are you sure you're not getting Sharon Stone confused with Cameron Diaz? According to the imdb, she was Sonya until she injured her ankle and had to pull out.

Eww.... Sharon Stone as Sonya? I think she's a little old for that part.

Also, I haven't seen Van Damne in a movie for a long time so If he is in this movie he better look young and actually have an American accent.

Johnny Cage was inspired by Van Damme.. so it's possible.. but I think Van Damme is a bit to buff to play Johnny Cage..

Van Damme was going to do Mortal Kombat but he got a more attractive offer to do Street Fighter instead.

Big Mistake!
(Even though Street Fighter did have its moments)

You guys are right, it was Cameron Diaz for Sonya - before she broke her wrist.

But it wasn't JC Van damme. It was Brandon Lee who was cast, but died before production began.

Well if that is true (imdb being a terrible source for news) I dont think Diaz would have the attitude, Wilson really had the attitude of Sonys Blade perfect.
