And then Rayden frowns, like he was taken by surprise with such an astute response. This really bothered me.

Hmm, several lines:

Suckers! - Scorpion, well, oh dear, lol.
We matht gho - Jade - I beg your pardon?
It's a new look - Raiden - uh no, he shouldn't have a new look to that extreme in the first place.

Then there's the whole stupidity in some of the things:

Sub-Zero creates an ice bridge, and Liu jumps across the gap anyway. Hmm, clever thinking, yes?

And some of the special effects, the dragon tattoo coming out of Kahn at the end, my god, you could even count the frames it was so bad.

Oh, and let's make Shinnok fold up all box style.

Then there's the cheesy acting, ack, enough already, lol.

i thought the movie wuz ok but i really didnt like the costumes, they looked like they got it from the power rangers or sumtin

dude liu kang jumped the gap because when scorpian and sub-zero were fighting itfell down and the bridge was not there anymore

i think they should seriously work on their editing skills. there are so many bad cuts it's insulting.

For me it would have to be the bad dialouge and crappy effects(made the movie seem low budget)

I hated:
Most of all Cages soon death.
The costumes...very stupid looking. Only good ones were Mileenas and Sindels.
Raydens "new look".
Scorpions line: Suckers
Smokes death...
Some bad effect parts.
BARAKAS LOOK! Many characters, with cool stories, died as if they ment nothing and other stuff.

I hated that the characters didn't develop as well as they should have. They tried to put too many characters at the same time which made the audience care less about who they were or what part they had in the movie. Also Shao Kahn looked pretty lame, I was expecting a really bad ass guy who can live up to his name.

let's see:

Sub-Zero and Scorpion weren't in the movie for that long.

I didn't like Raiden's new look.

I didn't like Jax's attitude. I prefered the guy who was Jax in the first MK movie because he had more of that Jax look and attitude.

Rain was killed off so quickly and Ermac was killed by Sonya!

Smoke shooted out missles!!! Sektor is supposed to do that! And speaking of Sektor, how come he wasn't in the movie if Cyrax and Smoke were??!!

the editing and quality(they really could have made this into an exeptional film if they had a better cast and better more believeable stets,etc...).

Mainly I hated the fact that Johnny Cage died.
Also....

-All the different actors... Cage and Sonya

-I'm going to give Rayden his own thing because James Remar is quite jpossibly the worst actor in the world.

-Shao Kahn looked like a pussy

-Jax was annoying and no replacement for Johnny Cage

-Horrible graphics

-I'm going to go back to bad acting from the characters Sindel, Jade, Sub-Zero, Shao Khan...

That's all I can think of for now.

Of course like anybody else when johhny cage died at the very first. Really sucked.

Also the graphics and sound quality when Lui changed to his animality was crappy and could have been improved.

Ok here I go.
The main problems I had with this movie was...

There were too many different actors and they all sucked compared to the original ones. None of them could act and none of them looked like the characters from the games (especially Sonya)!

Johnny Cage was killed off too quickly and through out the rest of the movie nobody cared!

There was barely any character development! Too many character were (not in it long enought) introduced and then gotten rid of too quickly.

The explosions and special effects were pathetic, such as Sub-Zero's ice power which looked more like water, and that old god-zilla looking fight between Liu Kang and Kahn.

The script was poorly written, the storyline was retarded and the actors lines were so dumb and pointless. So it looked as though the script had not been proof-read.

The main good guy (Liu Kang) and the main bad guy (Shao Kahn) were both a couple of wimps and their acting was really lousy. Not only that Kahn looked more like a human bully rather than a ferocious demon. It was also wrong to have him unmasked during most of the movie!

Motaro and Sheeva both looked way too human to be monsters. Not only that they didn't even look scary and threatening like Goro did in MK1. Even in the movie Motaro's horns looked fake.

Since the acting was so bad, it looked as though whoever did the casting cared about finding people who could fight more than they cared about finding people who could act!

Most of the costumes looked like cheep halloween costumes, especially the ninjas and Kahn's outfit and helmet.

Jax's arms were supposed to be bionic implants, not gloves! Also Jax is a military general right?
In reality Jax would not talk like some black hippie from the hood.

And finally, if they wanted to include as many charactes as possible than where the heck were these following characters who were suppost to be in it (b/c of the story to the 3rd game) Shang Tsung, Kano, Kung Lao, Sektor and Kintaro?!?!?!

I will finish off by saying this movie was just one big joke and a big careless mistake!

what about that TINY little twist they added to the storyline??? SHAO KAHN AND RAIDEN ARE BROTHERS????????? where in the WORLD did that come from and WHY oh WHY would Tobias and Boon EVER give New Line Cinema permission to hack up that storyline like that??? Shinnok is Kahn's father??? the MORE annoying aspect was, I myself have never seen this issue addressed by Midway or Boon, maybe they have answered this question, but I didn't see it?

On Top of that in the 3rd movie, How can they play that one out? that will hurt the movie, I hope MK 3 just pretends like MKA never happened.


and to stay on topic about what I HATED about MkA...the Johnny Cage thing wasn't one of them...well, CHANGING the actor, wasn't a big deal to me, you really barely notice, since he gets his neck split in two, in the first two minutes of the film.

Now, I know the Batman franchise went down the toilet, but why don't we just cool it with the Villains? The Batman movies limited it to two villains per film, or three main characters, if you include the hero, until Schumacher RUINED it, by bringing in Robin and Batgirl, and reducing REAL villains like Bane, to thug-henchmen work, which is basically what MKA was all about. You always have to appeal to someone, but COME on, leave some people out, save'em for another day, maybe if they stopped believing that QUANTITY was more important than QUALITY, more people would enjoy the movie. Instead they turn the movie into some kind of STUPID exhibition, that's what MKA felt like "Well, here's what your characters would look like on the silver screen" Sindel? Sheeva? Mileena? all of these characters had their own plots, motivations...but they're reduced to 3 minute scenes, and cheesey one-liners by terrible stunt doubles. Now, I'm not asking for academy worthy actors, to play the role of EVERY character in the movie, but if the cast wasn't such a LONG list of EVERY character in the MK saga, squeezed into one MOVIE, maybe they could afford a BETTER actor to play Sheeva, or Sindel, and save characters like Jade and Mileena for another MK movie. Now what happens of MKA was a SMASH hit??? what if it was BRILLIANT? Well, we can't make a GOOD sequel, that's for sure, and why is that??? oh Gee, well, everyone died, except for Liu, Raiden, Sonya,Kitana and Jax and maybe Shinnok survived? So who would that leave as a villain? Do you see what i'm getting at? That's why the first mortal kombat was a success, they slowed down, they didn't jam EVERY character in the MK universe into the movie, they let Shang Tsung have his own movie, where he was the featured villain. Now sure, Mileena and Jade can't be the main villains in an MK movie, but bring Kahn in...but don't bring on Ermac, Sindel,Jade, Nightwolf...it's SO annoying...save those guys for a rainy day, produce a GOOD movie, then use those other characters wisely

Not many things pissed me off... I just laugh at most of the stuff I see...Like when jade revealed herself to be evil, she had glitter on her face LOL - god that was retarded!

The thing that actually pisses me off is the impostor who played rayden... and Shao Kahn was just fuckin lame. I actually hated him in the games because he's lame there too but I was surprised that they managed to make him look like even more of a dipshit.

this is what i hated about mk:a
-in first movie kahn looked like the evil supreme ruler of outworld or whatever should look but then made him look like an overweight formor wrestler in the sequal.
-they gave smoke rockets when its really sektor's trademark weapon.
-when motarro ripped off jax's arm it looked like rubber.
-motarro's front legs looked extremely fake.
-remar made rayden look old and fruity unlike chistopher's portrayal.
-kabal and stryker were killed off without even having the chance of being on the silver screen.
-the monster that devoured jade had no significant importance to the movie.
-mileena just appeared out of nowhere to fight sonya TRYING to get us males aroused with a mud fight.
-rayden should have already been mortal in order to be able to fight kahn and be involved in mortal kombat and/or guiding the fighters.
-also,why in the blue hell is shao kahn wearing jogging pants and using a whip to cowardly grab sonya when he could have used his trademark speed.

Pretty much what everyone else has said. Dialouge...blah. Costumes...blah. Character developement...blah.

However, I actually liked Jax, for some absurd reason. And Jade, oh my lovely Jade. I wish I could have licked the glitter right off her face.

I wanted to see Stryker, darn it.

The one thing I hated the most about MK:A were those stupid steam powered ball things that they whoshed about the earth's core in. They would have either been killed by the pressure or the heat during the traveling.

The fact that Shao Kahn and Raiden are brothers and Shinnok are their father. God, this was stupid.

The movie was going good until that revelation. ARGH.

Another thing is the Nightwolf's tests. Since Jade interrupted Liu Kang, we never know what is the other two tests that Liu Kang had to pass.

That's your opinion. BUT, I faild to explain why he's lame in my opinion:

Yes, his clothing is retarded.

He does the sholder thing too much- especially in the 3rd and U3rd.

His purpose is simple predictable each and every time.

He has no good or specific trademark of his own (scorpion's spear, Sub zero's iceball, Sonya's legs, Jax's gotcha ect ect)

Last but not least, making him taller then everyone else was (IMO) just a big compensation for all of the other world domenating qualities he was missing
