I saw MK and MK Anilation and had this really big disapointment, not many elements where kept the same as the original stories, the script was really sad the costumes the same and generaly i did expected from the director and script writer and especially from Boon and Tobias respect to the million of fans out there.I mean the movies were good, but nothing was like the games.I strongly believe that if a third movie is to come out, they have to pay attention. The director and the script writer must be fans in order for the movie to be real.Wander yourselves what you would do in that position.I thing that all of us must insist on this.Same applies to the serie Konquest as well.

The original movie is so superior to the second one in almost every way it's not even funny.

Thankfully we might not need to worry about the second film. The producers may be taking off from after the first, ignoring the second. wink

The 1st MK movie was great. It is very close to the comic ( didn't read the comic until I unlocked it in MK: DA's kontent). It took some key plot points away, but in general was a solid transation of Mortal Kombat 1 the comic and game.

MK2 the movie was a mess. It felt too much the game was trying to act out what the game would look like on film. What MK1 the movie did great was give us was real kick ass fights and a little bit of characters sig special moves. In general MK2 the movie was an attempt to put MK in game fights onto film and have little plot or character dev at all.

the first MK was good except for a few things: Sub & Scorp didn't have any depth as characters, they were just more ass to kick. they're story could have gone way deeper, but they just decided to kill them off with hardly any explanation "Scorpion and Sub-Zero. deadliest of enemies, but slaves under my power". one line. thats it. Scorp should have killed Sub and thats final. and the long sleeved costumes were gay.

minor plot holes that obviously hinted that they didn't want a sequel. Lui Kang was Kung Lao's descendent instead of Kung Lao and Sonya killed Kano, who played a somewhat major role in MK2 and 3. but yet, somethings do point to a sequel like Jax's appearance, which if you don't kill off a character like him, it means something, and the obvious cliff hanger ending with Shao Kahn (which was a really cheesy sounding line btw).

Sonya turned into a damsel in destress, which made her look really stupid. if he wanted her to fight him, why did he chain her up in a pink dress and a bad hair do?

where the hell was Johnny during the Lui vs Reptile fight? he saw the poor guy get thrown through a brick wall, but did he help? nooooo.

what was Johnny doing out in the middle of the forest and how did he get out of hell?... and who's freakin autograph was that!? thats driven me insane since the movie came out!

and finally, screwing over chances for an MK2 based movie is ultimately the cause of MKA's world renowned super shittiness.

Same here. I have never fully understood the whole autograph part. Were they trying to imply that scorpion was a big fan, or did cage leave it by his remains?

Anyway, I loved the first one. The character stories could have been better, but overall it was still a good movie. As for the second one however, that was like starring at a log of shit for one and a half hours. The director had the creative skills of a rotting walrus.

Embarrasing bad special effects in MK2, also a boring story that had nothing to do with the game and some of the characters just looked silly. All the ninjas, the robots (smoke etc) and the worst of em all Shao Kahn.
The only actors that did fit into the characters was Kitana, Liu Kang, Jade, Jax and Sindel, rest of em was crap.

I liked Mk1, and I hope Mk3 will be more like that movie.

Johnny was in the middle of the forrest because that's where the battle with Scorpian was to be taken place. He probably recieved directions how to get there too.

Who knows how he got out of Scorp's lair but he did. He might've crawled out thru a secret passage, instantly teleported after Scorpian exploded, Raiden got him out, etc.

It's Johnny's autograph of course, right? Being a well known actor and celebrity he probably carries around a bunch of autographed pictures to give to his fans. Even Scorpian gets one.

All I know is that the autographed photograph of Johnny Cage was a little joke added in by the director of the Mortal Kombat movie. It was to be a knock off of Johnny Cage's friendship in Mortal Kombat 2, nothing more. It was a little easter egg given to the fans of the Mortal Kombat games.
i thought the 1st movie was fu**in' awesome, the 2nd was not 2 good.

They were both good. The first one has the best story line by far, which the second lacks. But for fun and entertainment, I love them both.

How can you say that MKA was good?

I just liked it. I've been a MK fan as long as I can remember, I don't care about shitty acting for some of the characters. It's MK! That's enough for me.

BUT... i'm definately not saying is could have/should have been better.

So the MK logo can be slapped on anything and it will be good?

Your better off watching mk conquest or movies like House of Flying Daggers if you want to see good fights scene that last more then 10 seconds and have a good story, because i think you agree with me the 2 mk movies did not make any sense at all. Its only an atemp to put as many as possible mk characters in one single movie to not disapoint any fans of this long mk saga. sad

i think the thing that divides mortal kombat apart from many other video games is its deep and detailed storyline which is really good but not used in any of the moviesconfused
