The films were (and are being) produced by Threshold Entertainment, and Threshold owns the rights to them. As the films distributor, the only thing that'll change hands with the dissolving of NLC, is who's making the DVDs.

You're thinking of the 2-part pilot episode to Mortal Kombat Conquest (the TV show.)

The first episode of MK Conquest was often mislabelled as "Mortal Kombat 3", on both file-sharing networks and pirated VCD's and DVD's that are commonplace in countries like Malaysia and Thailand.

Or someone could have lied and said it was the 3rd mk movie but we all know there has not been one made.But the third one is called MK Devastation.
